Dear Military Religious Freedom Foundation:

I did not sign up to be told what faith I should be in or whether I should be spiritual or not and at Ft Eustis (and later at a pre-deployment briefing) the intent to impose a faith or recommend spirituality was made clear. This is not how true Christian faith works, this is instead some form of an ad-hoc mutation … a shiny wrap of bible text around a box full of vengeance, whim, and bullying. The same way the U.S. Army imposed its will on 200 soldiers at Fort Eustis and call it a “misunderstanding”, you bully the rest of the world and call it freedom, liberation, and humanitarianism. If you can bully a few of your own, you can certainly do so to the rest of the world. I cannot sense honor in serving in such a confused organization.

(U.S. Army Soldier’s name, rank, MOS and combat duty station in Afghanistan withheld)
