With all the pushback from USAF Academy evangelicals, in response to the Air Force Chief of Staff’s’s order, I’m not surprised to see something like this go ignored.
I’m referring to a mural in the cadet dorms that prominently displays a message that is very specific to one group of people. See the pictures attached I dont disagree with the phrase “Praise the Lord” but disagree that it appears on the walls of the Academy for all to see. This mural has been here a long time since 84, but it’s really the first time I actually noticed the phrase. Even living here in the dorms you don’t really notice these murals until it smacks you in the face one day. Then you ask yourself what kind of environment allows for this? Are people blind? Do they ignore these things so they don’t get in trouble for bringing it up? what do other people think if they don’t buy into the phrase? What would people say if the mural read “allah akbar” instead or “hail satan”? Would people also allow those to go up on the walls?
This place is getting a little tense with all the back and forth between the the USAF Chief of Staff General Schwartz’s viewpoint and what the Academy’s extreme evangelicals think. I am worried for the future if these people continue to ignore the rules.

I’d always been led to believe that the Christian’s Lords spirit animal was a dove…
…but hey, what do I know?
