Hi (name withheld),

Thank you for your note to MRFF.

You are correct. Islam is more than just a religion, just as Judaism is more than a religion and Catholicism is more than a religion and most religions are more than just their religious base.

Jews are a racial religion; just as Hindus are basically East Indian decent. Catholics have a number of races involved but mostly Northern European, Spain, Italy and America. Irish Catholics are as close knitted as any religious body.

Many religions practice social custom and tradition in addition to religious doctrine.

Extreme Islam is a bit more caustic and tends to the control of its adherents.

But MRFF’s problem is not with the definition of Islam in general, but Gen, Boykins’ insistence that there is nothing worth salvaging in Islam. He denigrates Islam just because of his own beliefs.

I come from a Christian background that honors redemption. To me Islam is worth saving if only for the many thousands of Muslim troops in American and NATO Armed Forces. Just as our own troops, sworn to defend and uphold the constitution, they must be given equal respect.

There are good Muslims and there are bad Muslims. There are good Christians and bad Christians, and good Jews and bad Jews.

MRFF is concerned only with the bad guys and their ability to affect the fighting capability of our armed forces and their willingness to interdict the constitutional right to freedom of religion.
