Hi (name withheld),
You’re a bit hard to follow. What man is doing what to Christians?
Oh, if you’re referring to Mr. Weinstein, the man who became aware of the forced proselytizing of cadets at the USAFA when his sons had to deal with some of it, yes. And, after he and his wife were able to get no satisfaction from the leadership there, they established the MRFF to help all the cadets who didn’t want to have an exclusivist, fundamentalist version of Christianity shoved down their throats. And now, as you may have noticed, the MRFF is responding to requests for help at other academies and throughout the U.S. military from people who suffer discrimination, loss of promotion or privileges and other penalties if they don’t knuckle under to these zealots and their enablers.
So what’s your question?
The MRFF is certainly not a “front,” as you claim; Mr. Weinstein, who was part of the White House counsel during the Reagan presidency, is anything but crazy; and neither he nor anyone else associated with the MRFF has “allowed (y)our Constitutional rights to be taken away. Quite the contrary. He and the rest of the staff and members/supporters of the MRFF are working to protect the constitutional rights of members of our armed forces. Yours, too, if you fit the description, but even if you don’t the work is of benefit to you.
The only agenda the MRFF has is written in its mission statement. You should take a look. It’s about protecting the right to freedom of thought, freedom of belief, freedom of religion, in the military, protecting it from those who would force their own religious view on those below them in rank or standing.
No one here is against Christians or Christianity, except when it’s forced on people. But then we feel the same way about any belief system that is being forced on people. But our focus is the U.S. military because the U.S. military is part of the U.S. Government, and the Constitution and our laws say the government cannot promote one religion over another.
That’s all, Karlee. You have nothing to fear. You’re safe in believing what you choose to believe. And we just want everyone else to have that same freedom.
Best,
Mike Farrell
