Selected Article Excerpt:
- If we are to believe the earnest Christian hate mail that Bonnie Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation has now compiled into a book, or “love letters” read aloud by biologist Richard Dawkins (watching him struggle with the word biatch is priceless!), at least some of the faithful can hardly wait for the show to start.

“10 Reasons Popular Versions of Christian Heaven Would Be Hell” reminds me of Huckleberry Finn. At the beginning of the novel Huck has been adopted by two kindly Christian spinsters who are endeavoring to civilize him. They tell Huck about heaven where all a body has to do is rest on a cloud, play a harp, and sing forever. That scenario is not attractive to Huck, so he asks the ladies if they think Tom Sawyer is going to heaven. They think it unlikely. Huck is glad because “I want me and him to be together.”
