Religious intolerance

To whom it may concern,
This nation was supposedly founded by people fleeing persecution for their religious beliefs. How terribly saddening it is that the inheritors of that freedom seek to deny others those same rights!  As the military is comprised of a subset of ALL Americans their right to practice whatever faith they choose must be upheld!
Frankly, I am disgusted by the GOP and anyone that dismisses the rights of other faiths, simply because they feel that they have “a lock on G-d”, how dare they! Also as our service members are fighting in the Middle East not only does it hurt our credibility, it also gives fodder and propaganda to those terrorist organizations recruiting against US! Have U.S citizens and political office holders become so dumbed down that they cannot understand the logic & common sense of anything?!? I doubt seriously that that carpenter of Nazareth would look at these people and be glad they are on his side!

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) released its 2015 Annual Report on April 30, 2015. In the report, USCIRF recommends that the State Department add these eight countries to its list of “countries of particular concern,” defined under law as countries where particularly severe violations of religious freedom are tolerated or perpetrated: Central African Republic, Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Syria, Tajikistan, and Vietnam.

The USA is not on the list so there must be a mistake somewhere. Oh, dah, it’s the “U.S. Commission”…go figure.

    Dear Watchtower,

The United States does not belong on the list of severe violations of religious freedoms, because we have the Constitution and the Bill of Rights which grants everyone the freedom of religion. Do you not even realize how Christians are treated in Muslim countries like Egypt and Pakistan, Christians are persecuted and killed for their faith in Christ, they are beheaded, hung, burned to death, crucified on a cross. Do you know that in Muslim countries there is only one religion, which is Islam and nothing else? There are many “radical Muslims” in our country today who want to install Sharia Laws which basically means either you become a Muslim or you die!!! I am sorry, but Sharia Law does not and cannot coexist with the Constitution of the United States. I will fight like hell to make sure that Islam does not become the religion of this country I was born in and the men in my family fought for in WWII and Vietnam.

    YW,

You say you will fight like hell to make sure Islam does not become the religion of the USA, yet you fight like hell to ensure your flavor of Christianity IS the religion of the country.

Do you see why I might have trouble with your logic? In my mind the extremists of Islam and Christianity (such as yourself) are exactly the same. Neither of you share. Go back to the basics (kindergarten) and learn those all important lessons please and thank you.

    Dear Connie,

There is nothing about sharing involved here. Islamists want the entire world to submit, for that is what Islam means “submission.” Christians simply want to share the love of Christ with the world and His message was that He is the only way to heaven, there is no other way but through the shed blood of Christ on Calvary! If people reject His love, then there are eternal consequences, but that is not on our hands but theirs as sad as it is.

Also, there is no flavors of Christianity like with Baskin-Robbins 31 flavors!
