MRFF was contacted for assistance by a representative of 27 active duty and veteran clients on September 7, 2016 regarding the prominent placement of a Bible within the mandatory waiting room of the allergy clinic located at Eglin AFB near Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  On September 14, 2016, MRFF President/Founder Mikey Weinstein contacted the Eglin AFB base commander on behalf of these 27 clients (9 of whom happened to be practicing Christians with the others being members of minority religious faiths or no faith belief systems) demanding removal of the sectarian religious material.  Wendy Victora of the Northwest Florida Daily News (nwfdailynews.com) reported that on September 16, 2016 (Constitution Day) the Director of Public Affairs at Eglin AFB informed her that the matter was elevated to major command at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio where it was reviewed and addressed.  Based on MRFF’s demands the decision was made to remove the Bible from the mandatory waiting area and place it at the chapel located at the Eglin AFB hospital.
