Political cartoonist Austin M. May provided an unsolicited homage to MRFF and its President/Founder Mikey Weinstein in ‘AirForceToons’ appearing in the March 13th – 20th, 2017 edition of The Air Force Times. The comic strip depicts iconic Star Wars character Darth Vader being reminded to “Dial it back” when preaching about ‘The Force’ while at work. ‘Vader’ is reminded that he is in a high position of government authority when he does this and needs to act appropriately before someone calls Mikey Weinstein. This satirical comic strip provides profound recognition in a publication of significant circulation within the U.S. Military community of what has become MRFF’s ubiquitous role within that community of protecting the constitutionally guaranteed separation of religion and government as it pertains to the individual rights of service members.
