    “In God we trust” in our currency (except for a 1864 UNION 2-cent coin), and “Under God” in the Pledge were inflicted upon the nation in the mid-1950s. As I now recall, the last real war WON by the USA ended in 1945 (we didn’t ‘win’ in Korea, and never mind Panama and Grenada). Perhaps ‘God’ is unhappy about his/her/its name being taken in vain by our government?
