Sir,

Thank you for the great service the MRFF does on behalf of the Constitution. The e-mails and updates I receive are a reminder to me that it’s time to make another contribution to the mission.

I belong to and am an administrator of a support group page for Progressive Military Chaplains where there is much love, admiration and respect for yourself and the mission of MRFF. We understand that the “God” of the Army as it were is the Constitution and that the Constitution provides for the “Free Exercise of Religion” for all without an “Established” Religion for ALL who serve as well as their families. You and the MRFF support and defend the Constitution.

Good news story: I am in a leadership position as an active duty Chaplain. I am the Chief of the Training Development Division at the US Army Chaplain Center and School. I was asked to provide the invocation at the Ft. Jackson Rainbow/Pride 5K fun run on 15 JUN. You can see the pictures on the US Army Chaplain Center and School FB Page. It was a great event with 400 in attendance including the CG and his wife.

I was the only Chaplain out of 50 on post who attended. That being said, 20 senior NCOs from the USACHCS and 10 Chaplain Officer Basic Course Students also attended and took part.

I am the “Chaplain” for the Chaplain Officer Basic Course and there is paradigm shift starting to take place. Change is coming. More female Chaplains are joining the Corps as well as Chaplains of color and gay and lesbian Chaplains. At the entry level the Chaplain Corps is starting to look like the rest of the Army.

I provide pastoral care for all of the students but am a mentor a group of future Chaplains from Progressive religious backgrounds, more than any previous Class. We all respect the Mission and work of the MRFF and support an inclusive and expansive approach to the Constitutional right to the Free Exercise of Religion for ALL; the legally narrow and razor thin reason for the Existence of the Chaplain Corps. You sir and the MRFF help protect, support and ensure the continuation, legally and constitutionally, of the Chaplain Corps.

I am a proud member and supporter of MRFF!!

Chief, Training Development Division
