Group Condemns “soldier Santa’ holding Gold Bless America ‘ sign at Army Base

Dear Mickey

You are the reason this country is in a bad state of affairs’, A blow up Santa in Uniform? Really? Get a life and help the military get the benefits they deserve from this government for health and wellfare. They need support for all the work they do for this country. Better pay, better benefits, better health care. Who cares about a BLOW UP SANTA as a display? GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THE MILITARY THAT PROTECT US.

Dear (name withheld),
Actually, the country’s state of affairs is created by a number of complicated issues, many of them aggravated by angry people who lash out at others without knowing what they’re talking about.
Apparently you’re fine with soldier Santa. We’re not. What type weapon would you have him brandishing when the kids see him?
We’re in favor of all appropriate benefits for the women and men in the military, but Santa Claus is Santa Claus, bozo. He doesn’t parachute in or come off an LST or out of a tank or armored vehicle. He doesn’t toss grenades or fire weapons. He doesn’t dress in a cop’s uniform or a doctor’s coat or a prison guard’s outfit.
The MRFF is doing a hell of a lot more to protect the rights of the women and men in the military than you, in your high dudgeon, ever thought about, so open your brain and close your yap.

The US Constitution, American law & US Armed Forces regulations prohibit the military from promoting or endorsing a religion except in military chapels. It should surprise no one that our military is required to comply with our laws & its own regulations. The winter holiday seasons is for military members of all religious & non-religious beliefs not just proselytizing Christians.

It would be nice if people in the military would support the rest of the American population when it comes to better benefits, better pay, and better healthcare.
