Un Merry Christmas to the MRFR Staff:

The MRFR will long be remembered for robbing little children of Christmas toys & stopping Christmas songs and carols. And for eliminating Santa and stopping Christmas plays and Christmas worship and Christmas celebrations of our Lords Mercy and Grace.

But the Birthday of our Savior will still be celebrated all over the world by proper people of Christian faith.

Just as the execution of our Savior at the hands of Jews like the MRFR leader Mickey Weinstein is remembered at Easter.

May all of you at MRFR get lumps of coal in your stockings.

Shame on the MRFR.

I, on the other hand, want to wish you the best, most uplifting, and most loving and sharing holidays, whatever the combination is that your family celebrates. I send love and gratitude for your persistence in protecting ALL people in the military and their right to worship (or not) according to the dictates of their conscience—and the rest of us who benefit from the spirit and actions of your work. You are preserving one of THE most important aspects of our Constitution and our rights as Americans. 
 
The gifts you give to this planet serve thousands of people, directly and indirectly every year, and you faithfully support even those you don’t know and will never meet. 
 
We all know from the legend of the Bible that the historical (?) Jesus was not born in December.  In fact, the timing of Christmas is a holiday derived from the ancient practices of pagans all over the world who celebrated birth and rebirth, and the faith that on that darkest day of the year, the Winter Solstice, that the tides would turn and the light would emerge and rule the day. It is that thought I’d like to leave you with today, and we can all hope, intend, pray, manifest, or whatever that people of dark and small hearts, wallowing in hate and fear, might share someday in the redemptive value of the return of light and energy and love after descending to the depths of darkness.  
 
May your holidays be full of love and light and may you share the joy of this season with all those you love and who care for you, at home, and all over the world.

Pardon me for writing under a pseudonym but the deranged content of you un-holiday missive to Mikey suggests you could easily become a troll rather than the rather marginal ‘Christian’ you pretend to be. Can you point to a single Tot who’s gone without a USMC-approved toy M4 assault rifle?  (keep in mind that pesky old ‘thou shalt not bear false witness…’ thingy) As if the military played any role in insuring all of America’s children had holiday gifts.  Did you stop & engage in even one minute of rational reflection before banging out your ‘missive’?

 

Are you suggesting the U.S. military celebrate all religious events the troops might wish (Hanukkah, Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan, Hindu, Buddhist, Rob’t E. Lee Day, May Day, Sacrifices to Thor, or Quetzelcoatl, etc)?  Or is your concern merely centered on people such as yourself; preemptively since you are so obviously exceptional in the unarguable truths you hold to be true that all others may be safely consigned to the trash heap of the ignorati? If so, how arrogant can one get? Keep in mind, your self-evident pride is one of the seven deadly sins… not that you’ll suffer in any putative afterlife (it doesn’t exist), but your attitudes toward people will be returned by their attitudes toward you.

 

Oh, and BTW, you should buy a copy of Bonnie Weinstein’s book: “To the Far Right Christian Hater…You Can Be a Good Speller or a Hater, But You Can’t Be Both: Official Hate Mail, Threats, and Criticism from the … Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF Letters)” since in your ‘subject’ & text body you proved Bonnie’s point about bad spelling.

    The letter writer has the same comprehension issues when reading their holy book as they do with literature. Both Scrooge and the Grinch are redemption stories. Neither ended up taking anything from the holiday so the letter writers point would be*???

    *besides anyone who doesn’t fit my worldview is evil and icky.

    Why doesn’t the letter writer complain about how Thanksgiving is no longer revere like it used to be? Nowadays, you see Christmas preparations and items during the month of November. They didn’t do those things years ago.
