This is my opinion only. It is based purely on emotion.
I see both sides; those who want the symbols removed and those who say the gravestones where the symbols reside are protected history.
What I would like to see happen is the gravestones remain intact with added signage to explain this was a part of our past. It’s a time when humans did not act in harmony that resulted in great harms, the effects still felt today.
Humans did this. We always do this, say never again, forget and start all over.
We see it in the here/now. A Person of Power (assumed or not) says they alone have the answers. Throngs flock because they don’t even have the correct questions let alone a clue of what to do when reality slaps them pear shaped.
The answer of course is easy/hard and never has anything to do with dogma.
