MRFF Staff

First and foremost I want to thank you.

Last week I emailed you, letting you know that at SOCCENT there was a Navy chaplain who was emailing (ie. proselytizing) the entire org-box with invitations to Christian Bible studies. I passed along that I felt this was harmful to the good order, morale, discipline and unit cohesion of the many servicemembers at SOCCENT whose religious tradition is other-than-Christian. For the past year at least, regular invitations were extended for exclusively Christian gatherings, and since Chaplain (LCDR) Terry Moran took command of the Chaplaincy in early July, those invitations expanded to occur multiple times a week, or even multiple times a day!

I can tell you now, that those Christian proselytizing messages have stopped being distributed to our official, military inboxes. From myself and the other SOCCENT servicemembers (many who are actually practicing Christians themselves but yet clearly saw how wrong this was) who felt second-class for our form of belief, thank you for your help!

I’m sorry that I had to reach out to you, but SOCCENT is a tight-knit community, and as they say in the military, “if you stick out, prepare to be hammered.” This was what drove me and my fellow SOCCENT Spartans to reach out to you all at the MRFF, fear of reprisal from the official SOCCENT chain of command. I know you understand, and we all appreciate that MRFF is willing to take the heat for servicemembers.

To follow up on something I said in my initial email to you, I am somewhat disappointed that there was a silent cessation of emails, and not the extension of an olive branch for non-Christian members. It is against the oath we swore to the U.S. Constitution and many regulations to offer sectarian Christian services to the exclusion of others, but I am still disappointed that Chaplain (LCDR) Moran seems to have taken his ball and gone home, rather than used this as an opportunity to offer the Chaplaincy to all of SOCCENT, no matter their belief or even lack thereof. That said, we’ll take silence over weekly unlawful Christian proselytization.

MRFF Staff, Thank all of you again for being there and getting this mission DONE!

A Spartan (MRFF Client’s name, rank, MOS, and all other identifiers withheld)

Christianists pass on learning opportunity; stick with selfishness.

This is a bold move considering their professed Lord and Savior was very specific about sharing.

What say the local Dominionists? Did I get the context correct?

  2. Allan Baumann

    Grey One,
Jesus never said anything about sharing, unless it is sharing the Gospel with the whole world or sharing with those who have physical needs.

Allan, again and again you prove your lack of biblical knowledge.

If I were you I’d be embarrassed. Are you? I mean, here is this pain in your backside, a nonbeliever, who knows your holy book better than you.

I have examples if you don’t believe me although the biggest action Jesus took in your book is the feeding of the multitudes with the loaves and the fishes. That’s sharing, correct?

Do you need more because I have a lot more.

Why don’t you know this stuff? Really – I’m surprised your pastor lets you in on Sunday.

  4. Allan Baumann

    Grey One,
Jesus feeding the five thousand is not sharing, that is Jesus performing a miracle to show his diety and that He is God in the flesh.
You say that you know my book better than me, then why don’t you repent of your sins then, get on your knees before Jesus and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and accept Him as your Lord and Savior?
Even Satan knew the scriptures but misapplied it and misinterpreted it just like you do in order to deceive people.
It will be a sad day for sure when you stand before Jesus to receive your just reward of His wrath and judgment upon you for your sins committed here on earth and your refusal to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Comparing me to Satan now Allan? Stop, you big lug, you’ll give me an ego.

I do know your book (and here is the important part so I’ll all caps it so you understand more clearly)

Feeding the multitudes was an act of sharing but yeah, you keep moving those goal posts.

Hmmm. Perhaps I should start to call you Lucy.

“Even Satan knew the scriptures but misapplied it and misinterpreted it just like you do in order to deceive people”

Yeah, Bauman, right-wing Christina evangelists have been abusing and misusing the Bible for their own selfish reasons and twist the scriptures around to justified why people deserve to be poor or to justified slavery.

Because I’m just that kind of person I felt it important to back my claim of a sharing Christ I found the following verses:

    1 Timothy 6:18
    English Standard Version

18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,

    Luke 3:11
    English Standard Version

11 And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

    Matthew 19:21

21 Jesus tells a young man “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven,”

    Isaiah 58:7
    English Standard Version

7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

    Luke 6:29-30
    English Standard Version

29 To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic[a] either. 30 Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.

When I told my creator aka Mom what Allan said about Jesus not being a sharer she blurted out ‘but what about the loaves and fishes?’

See – even though I’m not a Christian I can recognize who does and does not follow their Lord and Savior. My mom follows Christ. Allan follows a deity created in their own image to hate the same people he hates. Big difference.

By the way, I don’t expect Allan to reply. He’s already compared me to Satan. Anything else I have to say, in his opinion, is fruit of the poisoned tree.

Lol. Too bad as he doesn’t know anything about Love, the true message of Christ.

FWIW – I don’t call myself a Christian because I do not accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I know the book as I was raised in that culture, found it didn’t provide me with answers so I went looking. Welcome Humanism!
