I served as an Air Force Reserve officer for over 38 years (including a year in a war zone) and never worked with anyone – enlisted, commissioned, DoD civilian – more despicable than Georgia Rep. Doug Collins. Although I live in Georgia I mostly know of him from his comically maniacal ranting during Trump’s impeachment hearings. By criminally campaigning in uniform he has disgraced the Air Force and should be at least kicked out.

How did he ever get an Air Force officer commission? I just learned through the trusted MRFF that he is a chaplain so he avoided tough Air Force officer training programs like the Academy, OTS, or ROTC.  Apparently my beloved Air Force simply handed him a reserve officer commission as a chaplain to promote Christian fundamentalism.

I doubt if he would have lasted long in any line officer training program – assuming he met admissions requirements in the first place.  For that matter, his temper no would have gotten him discharged from any military unit I belonged to during my long and varied career. I held senior positions in a Georgia Reserve TAC radar intercept squadron and the Academy/ROTC admissions program.

    Mikey,
Change “temper no” to “temperament” – last paragraph.
