A large banner advertising the Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, sporting the slogan “Jesus Power Pulls Us Through,” was prominently displayed at the post’s main gate. A local attorney who saw the sign wrote to MRFF: “This kind of messaging, particularly in this location, makes it appear that the US Army is endorsing an evangelical Christian VBS event, in ways that events for people of other faiths (and no faiths) are not promoted.” Fort Sill’s MRFF Base Representative Sarah Kline quickly went to work, swiftly and successfully getting this overt message of Christian supremacy removed from its completely unacceptable location.

I’m pleased this situation was resolved so peacefully and quickly.

It is past time for equal representation for all. It is past time for evangelical, fundamentalist, and IFB sects to follow the Constitution. It is also past time for the military to clean up their own mess. They promoted Christianists knowing their penchant for blurring the lines between church and state.

Either rules mean something or they don’t. If they don’t, well, that’s a subject for a totally different conversation.

Can’t you do something better with your time and efforts? Not sure how this action has made life any better for anyone.

“For The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a Shout, with the voice of The Archangel, and with The Trump of God:

And the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet The Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with The Lord.”

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this The Judgment:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear The Second Time without sin unto Salvation.”

    “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it;

And Death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them:

And they were judged every man according to their works.

And Death and Hell were cast into The Lake of Fire.

    This Is The Second Death.

And whoever was Not found written in The Book Of Life was cast into The Lake of Fire.”

Do you want to be one of them?

Then repent (that means turn around and stop this reprehensible behavior) and ask Christ for forgiveness, and you will live forever, and not die forever.

Jason of the limited imagination and Chris of the thumping bibles illustrated my point better than mere words.

Christianists are sneaky sorts of people, convinced of both their superiority and absolute persecution. Unless a rule is highlighted in their cherry picked version of the Christian Bible, they don’t have to comply.

This last observation makes me wonder how a Christianist can in good faith take the military oath to protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic.

Unless they’re lying – another Big 10 no no unless a person isn’t a member of their personal church. Funny – when I last read the Christian Bible I looked for the asterisk refining the Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness but I guess my copy isn’t equipped with the super secret decoder ink.

Seriously – We The People are a varied lot. We each have our own faith or lack of faith. To place something so myriad and personal into our governing documents is madness which is why the Founding Fathers placed government on one side and religion on the other.

Learn to share and care kids or Theocrats will take over and no one (except the theocratic priest class) will be happy.
