Since you feel motivated to share your thoughts please allow me to share mine.
I believe someday, you’re going to have a lot of explaining to do as to why you object to compassion and kindness. I hope you’re prepared.

Hello (name withheld),
Your thoughts are clearly stated, if incorrect, and your threat is equally falsely based.
First of all, no one here objects to compassion and kindness. In fact we honor and cherish those qualities and try to practice them daily,.
What is objected to here, in the instance that seems to have bothered you, is the presumption on the part of a Christian organization that enables them to assume veterans and their families who are not Christian have beliefs that are so meaningless that they can be ignored. That is neither kind nor compassionate.
We object to the arrogance that suggests Christmas wreaths, a Christian symbol, are so universally cherished and desired that those laying the wreath need not concern themselves with the belief systems of the veterans in the graves they “decorate” or the families of their occupants.
We have no problem with Christmas wreaths adorning the grave-sites of those whose families want them, but we believe the organization doing the decorating has a responsibility to see to it that those who do not want them are treated with the same respect as those who do. That would be the kind and compassionate way to carry out this program, don’t you think?
So when, some day, you believe you will have to make an accounting, don’t forget the thoughtless judgment you took it upon yourself to convey to us.

Response from MRFF Board Member John Compere
Please be advised some families of deceased military veterans do not want a religious organization to which they do not belong or adhere profiting, promoting its religion version & marketing itself by presumptuously putting its religious wreaths on the graves of their deceased loved ones without permission. Those families consider it uninvited & unwanted intrusions on the personal burial sites of their deceased family members.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (composed of 85% Christians) remains prepared & represents, when requested, the religious freedom rights of those families to object & prevent what they believe to be thoughtless trespasses on the graves of their deceased military veterans. We do so because we respect their wishes (also out of compassion & kindness) & because the religious group responsible for the religious wreaths does not. Religious freedom is a shield of protection & never a sword of privilege. For more information, see militaryreligiousfreedom.org.

Dear (name withheld),
Since you seem to conjure forth a future judgment upon Mr. Weinstein for trying to protect the religious and civil rights of American military personnel, veterans and their families. He does this irrespective of peoples religious or political beliefs. Placing wreathes that represent the Christian tradition at Christmas over almost every military grave in the country, including those of hundreds of thousands of service men and women that did not share that faith in life is not compassion, but arrogance that decides that compassion is arbitrarily deciding that the faith of those men and women do not matter.
What would you think if a coalition of witches, Wiccans, and Satanists decided to blanket every military grave in the country with a Pentagram? Or if Muslims placed beautiful artistic depictions of verses of the Koran on every grave. What would Jesus do? Of course, I am taking liberties about your beliefs here, but you probably believe that he would order the death, destruction, and damnation of the offenders. A belief that you project onto Mr. Weinstein. That leads me to believe that the wreathes are not the real issue for you, but ensuring that no one who is not a Christian has any rights, grace, or dignity in this life or the next. That is the mark of someone who doesn’t know Jesus or the Constitution of the United States.
In respect to the faith that you so badly misrepresent, and none for you, Merry Christmas. I certainly will because it is more about God’s love to all rather than a admittedly beautiful, but domineering attempt to establish the Christian faith on the graves of the dead, many of whose faith is known only to God, despite the religious symbol on their gave in a Military, VA, or State owned veteran cemetery. Those are public properties, whose upkeep is paid for by the Federal or State governments through tax dollars paid by every American regardless of their faith or lack thereof. Perhaps the non-Christian taxpayers whose tax dollars fund the disposal of these wreathes, separating that which can be composed or recycled, and that which cannot.
But since you decided assume that Jesus or any other god would use a vague threat of eternal damnation against my friend and colleague Mr. Weinstein, I had to respond. It is something about friendship that transcends religious dogma or political ideology that makes me do this.
Sincerely,
Fr. Steve Dundas, Commander, Chaplain Corps, U.S. Navy (Retired)

Can you point on a doll where the wreath hurts you? Are all circular plants religious? My brain isn’t woke enough yet. Maybe if I drink several pots of coffee. I’m so offended by good deeds in this world full of evil too. Can I join your club?
I am a Real 3rd generation VET!! It is a Great thing in honor of our Vets!! This as a positive Good Deed !!
Absolutely revolting that your organization hides behind a 501 charity registration, evading taxation, and spews hate. Nobody knows who you are and, in your attempt to gain notoriety, you broadcast this. You are probably the idiot that sued McDonald’s for hot coffee, or the fool that made gasoline can spouts impossible to use. Get a real job and contribute to society, you ass.
You DEFINITELY should UNTWIST your panties before getting out of bed in the morning……
Hunting down GOOD DEEDS to bitch about?!?!? Gimme-a-break!!!!!
You’re way off base with your “Christian gang sign” comment, Mr. Weinstein. Whose favor are you hoping to get by offering that poorly thought-out comment? You have drawn sufficient negative attention for your organization, may that be your legacy.
In a few short years, Mikey, you’ll be just another pus-bag, on the ass-crack of History. What would you like JEHOVAH to leave on your grave? The keys to The Kingdom? You really should go after Christmas, with all those “Pagan” symbols. And what about the goddess “ISHTAR”?? And the stupid little bunny? And don’t worry, Christians won’t try to make you believe in Jesus. They know all too well that you have about as much interest in — and reverence for — Jesus the Christ, as your Muslim buddies do.
Your organization most organizations like your helps no vet in my option and yes I’m a vet. Attacking Christmas Wreaths being placed on a veterans grave for what they gave is just sick. Who gave you the authority to speak for those veterans? Your organization has some the balls to ask for donations not from me.
You absolutely do not represent this old non-Christian veteran. You suck.
A disgraceful assault against those who did far more than this hate preaching organization of woke thugs.
Should I find your grave, this vet may leave a donation! What an asinine comment Marty.
As for me, throw all the wreaths you want on my grave! That’s an individual choice. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation opposes this paganized “Christian” practice because there is no respect for individual choice.
Oh really Dustin? You talk about choice while your favorite ass hole president Biden imposes dictatorial fascism?
America is satanic and under God’s wrath….make your peace all you Americans because God is going to wipe your sodom off the map.
Instead of finding good things to attack, what are you doing for the Jewish soldiers that are in those military cemeteries. If everyone would put more effort into doing something positive instead of always trying to find something negative and small and petty to complain about the world would be a better place… Shame on you.
None of those who commented above have any clue as to why indiscriminate spreading of wreathes for Christmas could be a problem for those who are not Christian.
None of those who commented took two minutes to read how the MRFF doesn’t get involved until the service member or their family contact the MRFF for help.
None of those who commented know about the MRFF (and based on the fact content of their words continue to remain ignorant) until their Voices of Authority said to carpet the site with their displeasure.
Well done Christian Nationalists. You got the hat trick of ignorance.
As a third-generation Jewish veteran of the United States military, Mikey Weinstein and his organization DO NOT speak for me or my Jewish family.. It’s misguided and obnoxious campaigns such as the MRFF’s complaints about something as innocuous and benign as holiday wreaths that INCREASE antisemitism. Perhaps Mikey’s Liberal echo chamber doesn’t include people who disagree with him, but I see and hear the effects of this kind of stupidity.
Jews today have more freedom than they have ever had before anywhere in the world. But it is spiteful idiocy such as this anti-wreath campaign that bites the hand of modern Christianity and modern Christians who CREATED this country in which we have been able to thrive and prosper in relative safety. Mikey Weinstein reinforces every stereotype of the Jew who betrays those who show him kindness and who is working to destroy the society which has done more for Jews than any other in history.
Thank G-d for Christians and the truly great civilization they have built. In the modern world, it is Atheist Jews who feed antisemitism much more than Christians.
Mikey, you disgust this Jew. Stop proving the antisemites RIGHT with your pettiness.
here’s a comment. Fuck you.
eat dicks.
In life you have to pick your battles and find certain hills in which you are prepared to die on. Sadly, this is not one of them. As a Desert Storm and two-tour Iraqi Freedom veteran with 27 years of service, you are totally off the mark here. I was raised fundementally Christian and have since become a Buddhist married to a Wiccan. I might know a few things about Religious freedom, especially as someone who took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. When I eventually die and my remains are laid to rest in a cemetary with my VA headstone I really don’t care what anyone does. I am dead and gone. Ashes to ashes and all that stuff. Lay a wreath on my dirt, take a dump on my dirt, whatever. MY remains (as in my dead rotted corpse) will not feel disrespected or discriminated against. I have volunteered numerous times with Wreaths Across America. Not once in laying them on the graves of those who served with distinction and honor did I think, “There! Take that, heathen! Here’s your Christian Gang Symbol so you convert to Christianity, ya dead and gone soul!” Pick your hill, pick your battle. This ain’t it.
You are weak and disgusting. Just another operative with a mission to undo traditions and values in this country and you do it on the graves of people who would more likely than not hate you. I certainly do. You are soft as cotton. We are going to bring your organization down. We are onto your financial scheme and unamerican gimmick. You grifting scum bag. People like you are the downfall of our military. Get bent.
– 4 time usmc combat veteran
Can you show me on the web’s book a gang symbols where the wreath is fucking listed? Eat a bag of dicks
Wow, Mikey, you have some issues. First your salary is about 45% of your foundation’s budget. Second, you had the opportunity to maybe put in a lesson to people and educate them, but instead you try to spread a bunch of hate. You speak patriotism and how you support the service members. What you show the world is someone that is out for themselves by taking money from people. You rank right up there with porch pirates. You never did crap for me or any of my mates while we were in the service and we came from all kinds of backgrounds. Go get a real job and get off this administrations titty.
YOU DISGUST ME! Your organization is a complete joke. Attacking the families and using words like carpet bombing in describing the placing of race. You diss honor America. If there’s one organization that should have it’s 5013C status removed it’s this one. You are utterly utterly utterly disgusting.
As a retired veteran, I think you way off base. Who are you to speak for anyone, especially myself and other vets. In a time where people care less and less about those who served, you gonna do this shit? Go back under that rock you came out from and STFU.
You are a certified unamerican piece of shit. I hope you get stage 4 pancreatic cancer you fucking oxygen thief.
Christians all talking to each other wondering why a jew knew our “gang signs” before we did. How pathetic to target this. Like there are not bigger issues. This whole foundations is bs now.
Wow. Just so we are clear MRFF you will never speak for me. I didn’t ask you to and I would appreciate if you go away.
As for Grey One Talks Sass, hides behind fake name. Come out and show yourself pls. Just like a coward.
You’re one of those assholes who believes he can put the word “Veteran” or “Military” in an organizations name format and it magically represents what Vets and America stands for with you leading the charge. You are hiding behind the heroism and sacrifices of good people to run your so called “veteran rights organization”.
Laying a wreath on a vets grave is an honor for those who do this and it honors the vet and the nation! You are way out of line attacking the very people who honor the memories of vets and their families. May you die a thousand deaths, you coward, and suffer God’s wrath upon your judgement day!
As a Veteran..
You’re welcome to be allowed to be an asshole.
Grey One Talks Sass
Yes, people may have complained. But what about the people that appreciate it? Can we get accurate numbers on how many are for or against this act of kindness? Do Wreaths across America have a procedure for people that want their loved ones graves opted out? I could have missed that information; would you point that out for me?
I am not one for punishing all people just because of a few objects, especially when compromise can resolve issues like this.
Also, your comment seems ignorant, and you assume too much. What does that say about you?
Your Organization is discusting!!!
Perhaps, Instead of complaining, offer a suggestion instead of using colorful language as you did? That seems like hate-speech against Christians…. So, Why not suggest a different color ribbon, for different religions if you have to make this about religion. (It never was. It was about honoring our Veterans.) but you could should suggest a Blue ribbon for our Jewish fallen, and different ones for other religions. They do sell Hanukkah wreaths…. Google it.. Be a part of the solution instead of causing ill-will, please. We Love Wreaths Across America and I hope they never stop. I will donate to them for the kind deeds and message THEY SEND.
weinstein should leave America. He is not one of us. Americans need to retake their country and get rid of enemies. No country should live with enemies within. Huge mistake. Hey stein, free Palestine. You are a member of the world zionist congress commie thug bolshevik NWO society huh? No wonder you don’t like white christians. How was your IDF training? Did they teach you how to avoid transplantable organs in your victims? Shame this country has people who make it their mission to hate on others and violate their rights to life as they choose. This weinstein thug seems to think everyone should march to his drum beat when he don’t even have one. Go back go zionazi hell. And keep laying those wreaths and stop listening to morons who think they have it all figured out how everyone else should live. And for the record, I want a christian gang protecting me and my country. Better the Christians than the weinsteins and towel heads.
Wow, drawing a big fat salary while spreading division. “Carpet bombing”, “Christian gang signs”. Not only sophomoric but despicable as well. Aren’t you just a peach, Mickey? I work in the non-profit sector and I have never heard of the head man getting almost half the revenue. Nice spiel, though. Bet you have a lot of steam in the shower so you don’t have to look yourself in the eye.
Make a donation? I’ll donate to any entity that vows to destroy your sick organization. My uncle who, by the grace of God, survived Iwo Jima and then spent 65 years unable to go through metal detectors due to the shrapnel floating around in his body, is turning over in his grave right now. Undoubtedly showing you his backside for your shit for brains ignorance to the sacrifice so many vets laid on the altar of freedom and allowing you the liberty to spew such nonsense. May God have mercy on you for being a soulless, evil prick.
Yea, that Grey One Talks Sass is hiding, is that you, Mickey? My father fought in Korea, and if some stranger wants to put a piece of greenery on his grave, I say thank you, kind stranger. Though my dad was not very religious, he was spiritual and If he were alive he would say “thank you ” too, and recognize this Mickey organization for the SCAM it is. If one positive comes from his hateful words, its the publicity they will shine on his grifter scam.
Here’s a thought, Mr. Weinstein: Identify the soldier’s grave that you know would not appreciate a wreath so that a wreath is not placed on that identified grave. Also, the parents/children of the soldiers would be allowed to remove the wreath if they find one on the soldiers grave. They have that right.
But, don’t expect those of us who appreciate a wreath being placed on a soldier’s grave to agree with you and your group! The wreaths are for those who fought and died for our country, even in your religion! And, I appreciate the thought and work that goes into placing wreaths on graves at this time of year. U
If your salary as a % of the amount you raise is accurate – then it should be clear to anyone who knows how Non Profits are supposed to operate that this is a scam. As someone who has Chaired Non Profit Boards I will ask those that Audit this industry to widely publish the unheard of salary. Plus safe to say that 105 hours a week is fiction. As for your actions, I believe that you are not providing any real contribution to Society in this way and only looking for Notoriety. As with BLM you will probably get donations from misguided and uninformed people who might be well intentioned but don’t do thier research.
Interesting that the only comment to defend this stupidity is written under the code name “grey one talks sass”. Any one want to bet it’s Mikey the moron?
I want my country back
What a piece. Take something and try to destroy it. You brought up civil liberties with no talking points. Remember religous freedom in this country does not give you the right to make you free from it.
Mikey has security. I do not.
Most of you call the MRFF a scam and yet not one of you question the legitimacy of a for profit company forming a nonprofit with an exclusive government contract to supply wreathes during Christmas.
There is a way to end the controversy – if a veterans’ family wants a wreath for their loved one they can sign up. Those who don’t sign up don’t receive a wreath. Easy Peasy, right?
No – because it was never about anything but Christian Nationalists doing what they do best, steamroll over anyone who doesn’t share their specific flavor of dogma.
**When someone tells you who they are, believe them**
Show said “ Remember religous freedom in this country does not give you the right to make you free from it.”
Actually, the First Amendment says your religious and freedom of speech rights end where mine begin. This means you can’t shove your faith on anyone.
That’s the true meaning of Freedom of (and from) Religion.
“Mikey” you are disgusting!! The wreaths are meant to be a gesture of gratitude during this time of giving. They are not meant to be a ‘paganism symbol of Christianity…” I would think as a veteran that you would appreciate that. I’m sure you appreciate the $314,000 per year you receive for your 105 hours worked a week from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. By the way, the average salary in 2021 for a CEO/President is $84,674 for non-profits that have less than $1,000,000 in expenses according to “Excellence in Giving”. MRFF would fall in that range. According to a Harvard study the average work week for a CEO/President of a non-profit is 48.5 hours per week, not 105. You are definitely scamming someone, and that someone should look into it!!!
Hey Grey One talks Sass [Mikey]—– It seems you have have found a way to scam people out of their money by using leftist propaganda. What exactly do you do with your organization’s money to benefit or honor veterans? Paying $15 for a wreath to honor a veteran is an act of love. It doesn’t matter what or if they have a religion or their race, sex or culture. It is a way for people, not necessarily just Christians to pay homage to those who died for our rights and freedoms. [including yours] On the donation form there is a space to designate if there is a specific person or place you would like your wreaths placed or if there is a grave where one should not be placed. Maybe you should have done your research. I was a military wife for 40 years and I find your organization to be offensive and borderline communist. I doubt you were a frontline veteran. I’m thinking probably non-combat!
Just a footnote for the above post. Don’t forget our pledge to flag, “ONE NATION UNDER GOD”!
Ah Catherine H Keeney, the Under God bit was added in the fifties. Thanks though for reminding me that We The People need to fix that.
Also, I’m not Mikey. Not that you’ll believe me. Guess you only believe Fox? Newsmax? RT?
If the wreathes aren’t religious why are they only placed at Christmas? Why not remember our honored dead when we as a nation have set aside time specifically to remember veterans?
More importantly, why aren’t you, a military wife as you claim, asking these same questions?
Let’s put this issue in a slightly different context:
The leaving of Christmas wreaths on non-Christians’ graves is not altogether different from a man putting his hand up a woman’s skirt without bothering to consider or ask whether the woman wants that hand between her legs.
A great many men engage in precisely this kind of activity but, irrespective of their numbers, nothing can ever make it right or, in most places, legal.
To further complicate the issue, such men often are married to women other than those under whose skirts they’re groping, and are fathers of daughters; in each case they would object and even become violent were they to find that a third party was engaging in that same activity with their wives or daughters.
As such, there’s more than a faint whiff of hypocrisy in all this, akin to how the pro-wreathers would react were unasked-for Jewish symbols being left on the graves of their Christian war dead.
