Bible in large plexiglass case on POW MIA Table at Manchester VA medical center

At a hearing this morning in the MRFF-sponsored federal lawsuit over the large, plexiglass-encased Christian Bible on the POW/MIA table in the lobby of the Manchester, NH VA Medical Center, the attorney for MRFF’s clients moved to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice as part of the plan to achieve MRFF’s ultimate goal — to get a second, MRFF-designed, Bible-free POW/MIA table display placed in the same lobby. If MRFF’s table is denied an equal place by the Manchester VA Medical Center, a new lawsuit will be immediately filed on those grounds.

MRFF’s clients’ attorney, MRFF’s clients, and MRFF Founder and President Mikey Weinstein are allextremely pleased with the way this morning’s hearing went!

I believe Mr Weinstein’s philosophy is wrong. If he is correct, why does the Constitution and the Declaration refer to our Creator? Why does our money have the phrase “:In God We Trust”? Why are our public officials oaths noprmal;ly sworn with a hand on the Bible?

    Phil,

Aside from common dating terminology (year of our lord) used over two centuries ago where in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is God mentioned?

The Declaration of Independence is a break up letter, not a legislative document.

Money has God on it because back in the fifties Republicans worried godless communists aka Russians were infiltrating the country and to prevent that they put the Christian god on the currency.

The oaths don’t have to be sworn on a Bible, there are several humans who swore their oath on their own faiths book (caused quite the stir at the time).

Really, this is easy knowledge to find on the interwebz and yet you come here to do what? Catch Mikey with a set of gotcha questions?

Seriously little man, get some education because right now you just owned yourself.

PS – placing the Christian deity on our currency didn’t work based on the response of Republican leaders as they are fawn over Putin right now. McCarthy (the senator responsible for the red scare hearings) is rolling in his grave. Hmm. Too bad we can’t use the kinetic energy to power something.
