MRFF has received about forty communications from chaplains, former chaplains, and others expressing their dismay at the selection of Navy Chaplain CAPT Carey Cash to be the Navy’s new Deputy Chief of Chaplains.

As MRFF uncovered back in 2009, the Christian nationalist Carey Cash has said of proselytizing the military: “First we get the military, then we get the nation.”

Another arm of the coup? One can describe the beginning of the Christian attack on this nation as coincidental with the attack on the military. Fortunately Mikey has placed obstacles to fanaticism in the military. Unfortunately there is no apparent civilian counterpart protecting American Democracy. No gods have ever been proven to exist, yet here we are under threat of losing our nation to religious fanaticism, this person has come out and told us what to expect. A way out is difficult to suggest, perhaps with the exception of Real Christians beginning to understand the threat and uniting against it.

The phrase “First we get the military, then we get the nation” is not new. I heard words to that effect as a child driving to church with my aunt, uncle, and cousins and I’m not a spring chicken.

Any faith taken to extremes is dangerous. People like Patriot Pastor love to point fingers at the extremists in other faiths while ignoring the same in their own.

If We The People need any more evidence of the Christian Nationalists plan to turn the USA into a theocracy… OK, having said that I realized how silly that is because evidence is everywhere and there are literally millions of folks ignoring what is right in front of them.

What is the answer? I suggest the Military follow the ideals in the Constitution including and specifically the First Amendment. And, if a person can’t see their fellow citizens equal to themselves then maybe that person shouldn’t be in a position of authority. Just an idea.
