To combat the Trumpian boogeyman of so-called “wokeism,” Christian nationalist and long-time MRFF adversary Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO), who represents the congressional district in which that Air Force Academy lies and is also a member of the Academy’s Board of Visitors, has demanded a laundry list of records and documents from the Academy regarding what he calls the school’s “increasingly woke” curriculum, to include records of any “presentations regarding critical race theory, systemic racism, diversity and inclusion, discrimination, and/or gender issues that were presented or briefed to cadets over the past five years,” as well as any planned briefings on these subjects.

What could be a more negative reflection of a politician’s character than going out of their way to promote lies, hate, and bigotry in order to win elections?
I went to the interwebz to ensure my meaning is clear.
First, I define the term ‘woke’:
Merriam-Webster
Definition of woke (Entry 1 of 2)
: aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)
Definition of woke (Entry 2 of 2)
: past tense and past participle of WAKE
Next, I took a look at the holy book Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO) values above the Constitution he swore an oath to defend.
In reading the United Church of Christ’s webpage (ucc.org) I found pages of verses across all books/chapters which talk about treating the stranger, the immigrant, the outsider with kindness and generosity (which begs the question for me why someone who professes to be an ultra super Christian would ignore instructions specifically stated in the Christian holy book).
Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO) isn’t operating in good faith; instead he’s looking for ways to push his Christian Nationalist agenda.
Historically, diversity is a path to strength. Purity tests lead only to a narrowing of vision and eventually a lot of death.
When we know better we do better. This is a lesson Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO) hasn’t learned in all his years of living. Too bad he prefers to be asleep.
Sadly, there are no Christian politicians left in the republican party, only holier than thous (HTTs). Jesus Christ was the most “woke” human to walk on the face of the earth. He told us the craziest thing ever, that God loves all of us. Sadly again, HTTs have forgotten that.
Another reminder of how the HTT’s react to anyone who speaks (and LIVES) Jesus’s message. HTTs have forgotten most of what Jesus said, ESPECIALLY “my kingdom is not of this world.”
The UCC invented woke. Very few Christian denominations even approach this level. As a member of UCC, I’m appalled at those who profess Christianity yet behave in a manner that opposes the life and message of Christ. May gods grace yet reach their shriveled satanic souls.
Jerry, I really like the people within the UCC denomination. I was raised in an UCC church which is why I trust and reference their web page.
Of all the faiths I’ve researched during my life they were one of the first denominations who not only welcomed LGBTQA+ as parishioners but as pastors too.
Still ended up pagan but that’s because no one is my lord and savior (kind of a requirement when one professes to be a Christian).
Favorite moment in the series Good Omens was when Crowley asked Aziraphale what Jesus said to get the crowd so riled up. Aziraphale responds that Jesus told people to love each other. Yep replied Crowley, that’ll do it.
