Yesterday, 10/18/22, MRFF filed a federal lawsuit against the Department of Veterans Affairs for its failure to respond to an April 2022 FOIA request demanding all documents regarding the VA’s exclusive contract with Choice Books LLC, under which Choice Books LLC is the sole bookseller in all VA Medical Center “Patriot Stores.”

    Are you saying that it’s perfectly acceptable for a government agency to refuse a request for any info about why it awarded an exclusive contract to one company, or to even acknowledge receiving the request?
    If the VA REALLY wants to avoid “wasting taxpayer money on spurious lawsuits,” all they have to do is OBEY THE LAW and answer the request for info.
    What are they trying to hide?
