For the better part of 20 years, MRFF has battled the Air Force Academy’s clear culture of Christian supremacy and complete disregard for those of other religions. MRFF is absolutely not buying that the Academy’s scheduling of its “Commandant’s Training Day” on the Jewish high holy day of Yom Kippur, and thereby excluding Jewish cadets from participating in this important training day, was a mere “scheduling oversight” as they are now trying to claim.

To disprove the Academy’s dishonest and duplicitous “scheduling oversight” claim, MRFF has today submitted a FOIA request to the Academy. MRFF’s FOIA demands “All internal documents or communications, electronic or otherwise, between any USAFA faculty or staff regarding concerns, warnings, and/or objections to the scheduling of the ‘Commandants Training Day’ on October 5, 2022, a date which coincided with the Jewish high holy day of Yom Kippur.”

I can’t actually say I’m surprised by any of this, although I’m disappointed, and it does follow a trend that has become quite clear over many years. Is anyone going to face sanctions for this “oversight”? I think not. The USAF is made up of people of all faiths, but in the last 30 years, it’s become plainly clear for all to see that one is now Primus inter pares. Thanks for pointing out their egregious failure here, Mikey. I think that we can all clearly see that this wouldn’t ever have happened on Easter or on Christmas—but this is the way the USAFA has CHOSEN to operate. It’s just the status quo.

I wonder if they would have scheduled something like this on Ash Wednesday, or some other religious holiday observed only by Catholics, eastern orthodox, or other non-Protestant Christians, whom the fundamentalist bible-thumpers consider to not be “real Christians,”.

A scheduling oversight? I understand. I’ve marched behind horses.

“…the process broke down…” and let’s hope the military training is not a broken down process….. but we all know the Academy is firmly in the hands of so-called Christians. I understand all the academies have a similar problem. Or did I imagine I read that someplace……..

I like the “I’ve marched behind horses” comment! I’m gonna steal that one!
