Hi,

I am writing to you seeking help in a growing problem in the military that is censoring words from our internal communications. One of the censored words is Christmas.  I have noticed this is a growing problem as the years go by. Most recently it has struck our units calendar. The commander has deemed Christmas an unfit word to appear in the unit newsletter/calendar. It has gone so far as to reword the German Christmas Market to German Holiday Market.  No German believes they have “Holiday Markets”! Additionally the Holiday of Christmas in the calendar is reworded to Federal Holiday. This must stop. I have attached an email chain for your review and I can provide additional Newsletters/Calendars that show what can be stated by name and what needs to be censored/euphemized.

Regards,

You seem to have sent your complaint to the wrong organization. Our organization fully supports the inclusivity of using the word “holidays” during the holiday season rather than the Christians-only “Christmas.” We believe that your command is absolutely doing the right thing by using “holidays” when addressing a religiously diverse military population. You may want to direct your complaint to an anti-diversity organization such as First Liberty.
Have a merry Christmas.

Using the word “holidays” during the holiday season rather than the Christians-only “Christmas” IS a way of expressing inclusivity.
Not allowing the people who organize an activity modelled after a German Christmas Market to call it that is NOT “a way of expressing inclusivity.”
Forbidding the labeling of December 25 on a calendar as Christmas is censorship, AND gives the theocrats something they can call an example of their fictitious “war on Christianity.”

There was an actual “War on Christmas” in the American Colonies once; however, it wasn’t anti-Christian secularists who waged this “war”. It was the Pilgrims who started the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1620. These “Pilgrims” were an off-shoot of the Puritan movement in the United Kingdom who were too radically conservative religiously even for the Puritans. If you want to see what a REAL “War on Christmas” looks like, go to Atun-Shei Films’ YouTube channel and watch the “Witchfinder General” series. The Pilgrims would have had a country completely free of the Pagan ritual of Christmas if they’d had their way — and be thankful they didn’t!
