Gigantic painting of Jesus hovering over a lifeboat in the conference room at USMMA

The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) is keeping its promise made in February, after MRFF’s successful demand on behalf of 26 USMMA midshipmen, staff, faculty, and alumni, to move its enormous Jesus painting from the Elliot M. See conference room in its Wiley Hall administrative building to the chapel.

The Academy announced today that the painting has now been removed from the conference room and after conservation work on it is completed will be rehung in the Academy’s non-denominational Mariners’ Memorial Chapel.

1..Painting of Jesus Saves should absolutely not be hung in a non-denominational chapel, which, it sounds, is its planned destination.

    2. I take strong exception to the acceptability of “Have A Blessed Day.” That is totally out of bounds and out of place in any Government facility.

    Thanks,

    Well done, All.
I’ve been following this story with interest and I believe that this is a “textbook case” of how such matters should proceed to resolution.
    • USMMA complainants (midshipmen, staff, faculty and alumni) request assistance from Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF).
    • MRFF responds quickly and addresses USMMA command regarding the problem.
    • USMMA command responds appropriately and in a timely manner.
    • Problem resolved with all parties satisfied with outcome.
This is why I support MRFF and this is why you should too.
    Again, well done everyone.
