I know the letter writer believes they are cute as all get out. Reality is not cute.
Before I continue I must state this: consent is critical to the LGBTQA+ community. If a human can’t legally sign a contract, is underage, or mentally incapacitated then there is no relationship. EVER. We’ve self policed for decades. This isn’t up for debate.
Also, any claims of pedophilia reflects on the person making the accusation, not the LGBTQA+ community. For proof please check the news for the endless parade of Christian pastors, youth advisers, and teachers arrested and convicted of child endangerment. Hashtag Not a Drag Queen
My points:
LGBTQA+ humans only recently were allowed to marry who they love providing legal and societal protections enjoyed by heterosexual humans for millennia
LGBTQA+ jobs are not protected, meaning they face losing everything by loving whom they love (no job = housing and medical insecurity)
The number of violent incidents against the LGBTQA+ community are increasing as reported in social and news media even as acceptance is the highest I ever witnessed.
LGBTQA+ Humans aren’t crafting legislation to outlaw another’s existence. Can the MAGA GOP say the same? (evidence says nope)
As I’ve learned in the past four years every accusation is a confession. Wonder what the letter writer inadvertently confessed about themselves?
Bigots and fascists always accuse decent folks who value equal rights of being bigots and fascists. It’s their go-to argument always, because they have no rational, decent reason to support their opinions about the people they hate and want to oppress. And they know it.

I’ve no problem with a transgender youth (who is massively distressed their insides and outsides don’t match unlike their peers) seeking out and receiving appropriate medical care, including a prescription for puberty blockers. It’s not as if such things are handed out willy-nilly without caution or appropriate over site. But the scare tactics make for clicks while honesty and facts remain on the cutting room floor.
The only humans telling me being transgender is a choice are the bigots trying to kill them (and by extension the whole LGBTQA+ community). I lived through is same charade with Marriage Equality: the lies about our relationships, how we became who we are (baby, I was born this way), and the unending prophecies how LGBTQA+ equality would destroy humanity. Everywhere.
Marriage Equality has been the law for a while and humanity is still here. Better be stoning some prophets, at least that’s the sentence according to the Christian Holy Book.

Jsjsn: the point is that you are disagreeing with the experts in the relevant medical fields about facts established by science and clinical medicine. Gender is not the same thing as physical sex characteristics. Gender dysphoria is an established medical condition recognized by the experts in medicine and psychiatry. Simply reciting your opposition to facts doesn’t make them go away. It just makes you look stubbornly ignorant of those facts.
I hope at some point you will ask yourself why you are so resistant to seeking out and acknowledging the facts as stated by reputable experts in the relevant fields. You obviously have access to the Web, where explanations of the facts are available to you. Try the websites of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychiatric Association.
Ok sure, lets agree that gender is different than biological sex. You want to let your kid dress like a girl cause they like girls clothes, fine. You’re advocating for denying parents the right to get vital medical treatment- for their family – a policy not considered for any other medical condition.

And btw, hormone replacement therapy does permanently alter your biochemistry whether your willing to accept that or not. Your menstrual cycle and your LH/FSH cycle with estrogen and testosterone replacement therapy. I suggest you research it.

That said, wise minds developed a protocol of evidence based physical and mental health care to address children who identify differently than the gender assigned at birth. Data shows without access to this necessary and appropriate care kids die.

12 states have implemented 6-week abortion bans, long before many women even know they’re pregnant, much less whether or not the embryo is viable in terms of congenital birth defects, not even tested until late in the first trimester, with the exception of IVF (1 to 2 % of all pregnancies).
I’ve spoken to the ACLU to see if we can’t mount legal challenges against those states that, by way of their newly enacted abortion laws, can force them to be held legally liable for life-time care of a child that is forced to be carried to term, with knowledge of congenital birth defects, because of State mandated prohibitions against termination of the pregnancy. As well as providing care for the mother and family. The State taxpayers should be held responsible for the life-time care of these children that were forced to term because of draconian State laws that would force a Down Syndrome fetus to term or any other serious fetal malformations. Remember the Zika virus children?
That decision should be between the woman, her family, and her Doctors, not the State. If the State wants to intervene and force the gestation of a child with congenital birth defects, then they should have to pay for it…….. for life! To include all durable medical equipment, medical treatments, home health care (in some cases 24/7 nursing care), prescribed drugs, respite accommodation for the parents, in short – all costs associated with the lifetime care of that child and support for the family! You try to care for a child with serious congenital defects and let’s see how you do! Just the shear mental anguish, anxiety, and exhaustion for the family, not to mention the child, is overwhelming! I think you’d soon see a turn-around on some of these laws Republicans are enacting.
I know y’all aren’t talking about pregnancy issues but the point is that Republicans don’t give two shits about life because they “think” their 2000 year old book is pro-life, which it’s not! God only knows (pun intended) how many millions he has personally killed or caused to be killed. Not to mention the “bitter water” infidelity test – Numbers 5:11-31 that will cause a miscarriage if the wife has been unfaithful (always the wife’s fault isn’t it – too funny – if the son gets some pussy, “that’s my boy!” If the girl gets some dick – she’s a little whore and a slut!).
What about children born into poverty? Children are our greatest National and Natural resource. You’d think we’d put a priority on making sure they are successful. A good childhood leads to a successful adult, which leads to a contributing member of society!

He’s your responsibility!” Even though we all pay for those kids that don’t do well one way or another! Better to have a successful child that contributes as an adult rather than one that becomes a burden on the system.

I’d intended to provide the receipts of erased voices from history for the troll on this post but then stopped. See, I’d read all the comments this specific troll has made on the site recently and amazingly, they didn’t personally provide what they demanded from others. I know, shocking.
When I Googled erased LGBTQA+ voices in history I found pages upon pages of links of those whose contribution to society had been ignored and not just the LGBTQA+ community. In fact, the only voice not represented in the erased list was cisgender white Christian males.
I am reminded of the Matthew 7:12 verse “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets”.
Perhaps the reason Christian Nationalists trolls are so vehement about maintaining their power structure is they are worried they will be treated as they’ve treated others. I know many comedians have asked the question “was there anything wrong in how marginalized communities were treated?”

Also, the legislation addressing trans health care in several states has nothing to do with anyone cutting off anyone’s genitalia. Surgery isn’t a part of the treatment protocol for minors who need treatment for gender dysphoria in the US. If you knew what you were talking about, you’d know that.
