MRFF Decries 3-Star General’s Statement that the U.S. Military’s AI will be More Moral than Others Because the U.S. is “Judeo-Christian”

ltgen-richard-moore
Lt Gen Richard Moore, the Air Force’s deputy chief of staff for plans and programs, speaking at the Hudson Institute, a neoconservative think tank, proclaimed his outrageous Christian nationalist opinion that the U.S. military’s use of AI will be more ethical than and morally superior to other nations because, according to him:
“Regardless of what your beliefs are, our society is a Judeo-Christian society and we have a moral compass.”

And what star general is the article writer again? Oh, thats right… no-star general. hmmm
*Troll above tells me they aren’t an American without saying the words. We The People’s brand is speaking truth to power. How did they miss that fact?*
Today I learned I can know a thing (Nationalist Christians have infested the military) and yet still shocked when evidence of said thing smacks me in the face.
Lt Gen Richard Moore proves the Peter Principle is alive and kicking in the Department of Defense. I do hope the Lt Gen’s FA is followed by a well deserved Finding Out!
Is that one of those, “How not to make General” in 24 seconds? Considering he just dissed all other faiths in the Air Force? We’ll see. Looks like he has some time left in his current position, but he’s at the Pentagon, so he’s in the right place for the politics of promotion.
I’m guessing he’s glad he’s not up for his 4th star given Alabama’s Tommy Tuberville’s hold on promotions. Kind of ironic a Christian Nationalist is holding up the promotions of other Christian Nationalist!
He has a storied career. 4000 flight hours across five different platforms, looks like he’s primarily a refueler by specialty with the exception of the King Air time (probably in the early part of his career). He’s flown some Big-Ass airplanes for sure (C5, C17, KC135). And I’m sure he’s a very smart guy, but even smart people can say some pretty stupid things!
He referenced “Judeo – Christian,” which is kind of amusing given that most Christians, when you point out some of the contradictions (there are many) in the Bible, they jump straight to, “that’s the Old Testament, we’re under a new covenant!”
And if troll messaging is any indicator in this forum, Christian apologists here seem to hate Jews (even though their savior is a Jew).
He might change his words a bit next time around to sound more inclusive. Would his comment hold up a fourth star? We’ll see.
I think the real problem is the United States Air Force has been taken over by Christian Nationalists but the demographics of eligibles are changing, not just for the Air Force but for all branches.
They know there’s going to be less high school graduates, in total, in 2025. The Air Force is down 27,000 in its current recruitment drive.
Being inclusive is going to be a major contributor to meeting goals going forward! They’re going to run out of Christian eligibles soon! God forbid they’ll be forced to take someone of a different faith.
Regarding his comment about Artificial Intelligence and morals, he ought to stick to what he knows, which is flying, and leave the AI issues to the computer scientists! Regarding morals? I wouldn’t use the Bible. It sanctions slavery, mysogeny, infanticide, xenophobia, abortion, mass slaughter, incest, the list goes on!
25 years ago no one would have paid attention to his comments. No one.
We are a Judeo Chistian society, for the most part.
However, trying to equate that with using AI in a moral manner, is a stretch.
Youre right John. Nobody would have paid attention… but then again MRFF are a bunch of nobodies. Liberals got too bored with all their free time free grifting off the government and now constantly have to find new things to whine and cry about. Itll eventually go back to the old ways. Step one is complete change in leadership and some very hardline policies in crime, “protesting”, and moral expectations. itll happen in the next 20 years.
“Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who is an Army veteran, told Fox News Digital that during a meeting with the families of the “Fallen 13” last week, he was “enraged to learn that the Department of Defense had placed a heavy financial burden” on the family of Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, who were forced to find funding in the thousands to move her body to its final resting place after her 2021 death in Afghanistan.”
Brandon botches Afghanistan worse than anyone could ever imagine, causing 13 US deaths, and the family is forced to pay for transport back to the US for proper burial.
Then you wonder why nobody wants to join the military.
Lalalala lies as easily as they breathe. Nothing they stated as fact happened as presented. I guess perception is everything.
I could fact check every statement but why?
The one thing I zeroed in on during my research is the fact the cost of moving Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee (hero killed by Afghanistan insurgents, delivered by the military to her home town to be buried) to Arlington was determined by Congress. So I’m sure our troll took care to verify how the political critter at the heart of the matter voted, correct?
The fallen Marine in question was indeed moved, the assorted costs covered by a group of folks created to do just that. So where is the issue?
Coming into office after the Jan6 insurrection President Biden didn’t listen to the Military leaders, an act for which he later apologized. That said it was the former administration who set the terms for the USA to leave Afghanistan (with all the unanswered questions like how did the insurgents get the necessary intel to infiltrate the airport, and why didn’t the former guy, who invited the freaking Taliban to Camp David, ask for better conditions upon leaving or request additional time due to administrative changes?)
Where is the call for accountability from the former guy? Oh yeah, accountability for me but freedom to poop on others for thee.
If one looks for an illustration of hypocrisy they will find Lalalala.
This question is floating about the internet and will my recent bout of being flat I’ve pondered this very thing ‘Then you wonder why nobody wants to join the military.’
Of course I have a few thoughts.
How about placing our soldiers in harms way time after time and then funding for aftercare cut by Congress.
How about our soldiers and their families forced to use social programs like food and housing assistance. Raise their damn wages!
How about…. I could go on but everything else distills into ensuring care for soldiers when they get home and pay them a living wage.
The money is there somewhere. After all, the DOD has failed their last five audits. As an investigative account that fact to me is a glaring red light that must be addressed.
#AuditAllTheThings!!!!!!
oh wow! an apology! fuckin-a…
“We make Generals today on the basis of their ability to write a damned letter. Those kind of men cannot get us ready for war.” Lt General Lewis “Chesty”Puller USMC
The right will cry about 13 deaths in Afghanistan, a military pullout negotiated by the Trump administration in direct negotiation with the Taliban, completely bypassing the Government of Afghanistan, but they won’t say shit about the 48,800 + deaths by firearms in the US in 2021!
Republican hypocrisy at its best!
In Feb of 2020, Trump reached a deal with the Taliban (The Doha Agreement), under which Trump agreed to withdraw all US troops from Afghanistan by May of 2021 and subsequently left zero plans for execution of the agreement.
Trump also pressured the Afghanistan Government to release 5000 Taliban prisoners, to include senior Commanders, without securing the release of the only US hostage held by the Taliban. Let me say that again, Trump released 5000 Taliban prisoners!
Was that “The Art of the Deal” at its finest? “I make the best deals!” Fucking moron, to quote Rex Tillerson.
While everyone is talking about 13 lives lost relative to lives lost here at home (48,000+), as tragic as that is, what’s not being talked about is the proposed $868 Billion being appropriated from the taxpayer for defense, not to mention the constraints being talked about. Put another way, that’s $868 Thousand Million dollars, a greater amount than the next ten highest spending countries in the world – combined (many are Allies).
That figure is actually higher when you include the Dept of Energy (for nuclear weapons), and the Dept of Homeland Security (for US Coast Guard funding), along with black ops programs and expenditures.
With over 750 overseas military bases in more than 80 countries, when does it end? And when will you stop paying for it? Do you really think the defense budget is going to go down next year? And where are we going to get the money to keep it going? From so-called “entitlements!” And before anyone goes there, there are far more whites in this country on welfare than that fictitious single black mother with five kids that you have in your head holding out her hand for assistance!
The US has three times the number of overseas military bases than all other countries COMBINED! So, if there is a world hegemon, who is it?
Forget Afghanistan, it’s over! All lives lost unnecessarily are tragedies. But it’s over! Did you see a cut in Overseas Contingency Operations money being spent because we’re no longer there? No, you didn’t. In fact, you see an increase in military spending!
If a politician can get you to focus on the minutiae of the past (they don’t care about the lives lost – they care about staying in power), they solidlfy their chances of staying in power. Period!
Look at what they do, not what they say!
Look at the NDAA summary. Not only does it target the MRFF unconstitutionally (which will be challenged if passed), it forbids even the hint of military technologies not dependent on fossil fuels. It prohibits discussion of anything in the DOD having to do with global warming, a huge mistake and National Security issue.
What’s the latest “boogeyman” in the mainstream news these days? China! And potential conflict with China! Why? Because our military war machine is a monster that has to be fed!
Y’all are focused on the wrong thing imo. We need to be focused on making this a little better place for our children, grandchildren, and successive generations.
We are, btw, as a policy, signatories to the One China agreement for 50+ years! Look it up.
The United States is a Corporatocracy that is leading this country, by way of its bought and paid for politicians, to ruin!
The US ranks 31st of 34 OECD countries on child poverty! Pretty embarrassing isn’t it?
Lots of issues to be focused on looking forward.
