MRFF Demands Removal of Gideons Illicit and Unconstitutional Christian Proselytizing Material from Lexington, KY VAMC POW/MIA Table

“Executive Director Armstead, on behalf of its 12 military veteran client patients at your Lexington, Kentucky VAMC facility, MRFF demands that you immediately remove the illicit, unconstitutional Christian proselytizing material (from the “Gideons International”) organization from the referenced POW/MIA “Missing Man Table” display which is under your personal control and direction.
[…]“If you are perchance somehow NOT familiar with the absolutely sectarian ‘Gideons International’ Christian proselytizing mission, please just Google it and you will then clearly see, sir.”
—Excerpts from Mikey Weinstein’s Demand Letter to Executive Director Russell Armstead, Lexington, Kentucky Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) and VA Deputy Secretary Tanya Bradsher (copied)

You bunch of reprobates don’t care how many people you send to Hell, do you?
Dont worry Will, I spoke with the director of the VAMC. He said that they have zero intention of taking it down and that Mikey could “swallow a cock”.
Will G: how, specifically, would removing this book “send people to hell,” and which specific people would be “sent to hell?”
As explicitly quoted in MW’s letter, the director of this VAMC is violating VA regulations by displaying this book. If he continues to do so, his superiors will soon hear about this from MRFF’s lawyers.
Will obviously doesn’t care how many veterans’ constitutional right to religious freedom are violated by the VA. Dooode is proudly displaying his bigotry and using personal insults as a substitute for facts. These are typical negative reactions to the work of Mikey and the MRFF by people who don’t value anyone’s religious freedom and constitutional rights except their own.
Hey Jeff aka: fucking moron, these people still have their constitutional rights of religious freedom despite the tiny bad little book on the table.
Who are the “these people”? A US govt agency is “elevate{ing} one belief system over others,” a direct violation of the quoted VA policy. When the govt
promotes one religion, that inherently diminishes the “constitutional rights of religious freedom” of those who follow other religions. What pert of that are you pretending to not understand?
Ndjsn uses childish insults as a substitute for facts. Facts show that there is no nation that promotes religion, or a particular religion, and still has equal religious freedom for all. That’s why Madison wrote the establishment clause into the first amendment. Like I said, you either are for freedom of conscience or you are not.
you people are morons thsi is a Christian country if you don’t like that then move the hell out of America. saying no other country favors a religion yeah tell that to sharia law countries. you people have become pansies how is there is no freedom in this country anymore only pansies like you
I hope you all burn in hell
Issue is solved Passed american and Pissed Off American. You are a day late and a dollar short as my grandparents used to say.
No one is saying the laws of other countries aren’t based on the religion of the region. We are saying – and I know you have a hard time believing it – the USA was founded as a secular government with it’s citizens free to worship as they see fit. What no one can do (but you Christian nationalists sure do like to try) is impose their religious doctrine via endless proselytizing and passing illegal laws on the rest of the population.
You don’t like it? Take your own suggestion and move to a country more aligned with your morality. May I suggest Russia? I hear they lurves them some MAGA fierceness.
Pansy? OK – haven’t heard that slur for a while. Seems to me buttercup the only person having a melt down is you so does your slur apply to you as well? Using your logic the answer is a resounding Of Course It Does.

Passed american says “thsi is a Christian country if you don’t like that then move the hell out of America.” George Washington’s State Department began negotiations completed by John Adams’ State Department for the Treaty of Tripoli in 1797.
The treaty, which was ratified by the US Senate unanimously without debate, states “the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion.”
If “”thsi is a Christian country” means that the majority are Christian, I doubt that any people associated with MRFF “don’t like that.” What we DON’T like is using government to push their religion on others.
Jeff wrote “Facts show that there is no nation that promotes religion, or a particular religion, and still has equal religious freedom for all.”
Passed american reads that and then says that Jeff was “saying no other country favors a religion yeah tell that to sharia law countries.”
Classic debater trick: if you can’t argue against your opponent’s actual position, distort it into something you can argue against.
Yes, Passed American lied about what I said (what does that say about whether they have any valid arguments against what I actually said?). And Pissed Off American simply revealed the vicious depravity of their own morality and beliefs by spewing childish insults (what does that say about whether you have any valid arguments against what I said?). Sad.
You who are ‘pissed-off Americans’ and exemplary Christians who hope others ‘burn in hell’ are missing something important. You are perfectly free — according to our Constitution — to bring your Bible anywhere you like so you can read it, and to pray as often as you like (hopefully following Matthew 6:5-6).
Berne Ketchum, if I could add to your point.
Christian nationalists are focused on forcing others to practice their flavor of faith, not representing for their Lord and Savior. That would be the point.
Several commentators in other posts gave up their game, that their fun is making others follow their faith. I mean, I already knew what they were doing but the validation is good to know. It does make me wonder how their meeting with their sky daddy is going to go when they die, especially since the Christian holy book is pretty specific on what is accepted and not accepted.
Not my concern but the possibilities do entertain
Hey Passed American,
You a ghost? Or just someone that ignores spell check?
Contrary to your wishful thinking, the United States is a secular country (thank God – no State religion), which means YOU can fuck off out of the country if you don’t like it! Fuck you and the mythical Christian horse you rode in on!
You see Christianity in the Constitution anywhere? Then shut yer fucking pie hole! Many millions of non-Christians are living here in my country, and we ain’t going anywhere! So, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out! And take a few of your Christian Nationalist brethren with you! You’re a stain on democracy! No one cares about your magical thinking. Worship that mean old bastard you Christians call God, but don’t expect anyone else to!
Just to tag on a bit, Christians (Christian Nationalists in particular), “worship” solely out of fear of their loving God. Their compelling need to proselytize their “faith” is nothing more than a confirmation of their magical fear-based self delusional thinking.
If I can get you to join the celestial North Korea club, then I reaffirm my own confirmation bias in support of the dictator in Heaven! No one wants to be the one to admit they’re wrong, particularly when I have committed my whole identity to it, publicly!
They, generally, start out with the Jesus loves you myth, followed by more aggressive tactics for recalcitrant converts, leading up to the Hail Mary of “you don’t want to burn in Hell do you?”
It’s such a perverse fairy tale, but they’ve bought into it hook, line, and sinker. And they have to get you to buy into it as well for their own sense of self worth. The more converts I can conscript, the greater my own probabilities of avoiding the Heavenly Dictator’s final solution for those deemed unworthy.
Not to mention the financial incentive for those in the business of Heavenly conscription, prosperity gospel being enormously lucrative!
They’ll tell you they pray to a loving God, but it’s the fear-based retribution that drives their fealty.
The Republican Party in the United States, long since dissolved and overtaken by the Ultra MAGA extremists, have a published road map (Project 2025) that clearly outlines their New American fear-based order, no different than Nazi Germany in its intent, “purge” being the operative game plan.
Christianized revisionist education, the dismantling of all social safety nets, the purging of non-MAGA from public service, to include the courts, the rule of law to become their own moral relativistic version of autocratic control. The revival of a waning white-power base to overcome the unstoppable “browning of America.” “Trickle-down” the new normal for any semblance of quality of life as wealth and income disparities grow. Healthcare to be doled out based upon party affiliation and the ability to pay as Medicare is disassembled. Life expectancy in America will continue to drop, falling well behind the civilized world, particularly as we near the point-of-no-return for climate change, racing toward Venus-like conditions that will destroy all bio forms on this planet (if nuclear exchange doesn’t get us first).
As Noam Chomsky warns, the Republican Party is a very real and existential threat……globally! Fueled by the Christian Right!
As the saying goes, “Repent! For the wages of Christian Nationalism is Death,” for the entire planet!
Forget about the afterlife. Become the best version of yourself in this one!
