As if Satanists believe in some really scary stuff … like encouraging benevolence and empathy and opposing injustice?

From The Satanic Temples website

“The mission of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense, oppose injustice, and undertake noble pursuits.”

The Seven Fundamental Tenets of The Satanic Temple

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.

Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.

People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one’s best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

The Satanic Temple is well-suited to provide to the USA Taliban (religious right of all stripes) the two types of bait they offer to their voting base today in exchange for votes: fear and hate. In reality, the Satanic Temple is doing the thankless, costly work necessary to protect religious freedom for all citizens – even those foolishly trying to promote theocracy under the delusion that their favored religion will continue to dominate through superior political and economic power.

Keep up the good work. To all here a note: I stopped a one of the xian displays at the VA here by simply contacting the patient rep and opening an investigation. You can use them to enforce VA Policy as well. If they balk too much always email the MRFF and the FFRF. 2 great fighters in the war for our democracy.

It amuses me everytime the “before/after” picture is displayed… like its some big fucking reveal what a space looks like when one small item is removed. I guess for liberals it does take that kind of brain power and resources to fathom those minuet changes in realtime.

“Minuet changes,” a MAGAT Freudian reference from a Christian Nationalist’s trip back in time to their coveted medieval mediocrity, the place they live, the expectation of their Orange Jesus bringing back their Christian inquisitions and crusades as part of their coveted Gilead.

Amazing how the absence of a little thing on a VA missing man table throws Christians into seizures.

Shoot off the faces of little babies in public schools and all you hear from Christians is “thoughts and prayers!” Complete silence when a Trump Christian cultist decapitates his own father because his father was a federal employee!

Yeah, that “small item” seems to mean a lot to these Christian cultists.

Remove a Bible from a VA table and they completely forget about the anti-psychotic meds they went to the VA for! Take your meds BEFORE your VA appointment! And BYOB – bring your own Bible!

Texas Christians calling for secession over the so-called border issues! See ya! 4.5 million social security recipients in Texas, not to mention Medicare and Medicaid recipients, most of it federal dollars, an immediate loss of some $100 billion to the Texas economy that Texas Christians will have to make up for! Shut off immigrant labor – great recipe for a thriving Christian utopia!

But that’s the kind of intellect that can’t seem to figure out they can bring their own Bible to their next VA appointment, that missing military service members has nothing to do with their Christian cult.

It’s so easy to distract Christian Nationalists. Let them smell Donald’s shit-filled diapers (Depends) and they completely forget about the ID Trump says they have to have to buy bread at the grocery store!

Keep at it Christians! If Texas secedes, you can all move there and create your own country – Dystopia!

Same tired rant. Which could be reversed to counter your own points.

If there was a sign on a desk there that read “Not Today Jesus Not Today” and a Christian made a complaint about it,would that sign have to be removed and an apology given? Would they call it Satanist Supremacy? But it proves Jesus right “If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me before it hated you.” – John 15:18 Ironic that a Satanist proves Jesus Christ to be right.

  7. Ironmoped February 3, 2024 at 9:48 pm

The “Satan” sign you’re trying to counter was on a “supervisor’s” desk. Big difference, context everything.

But I like me some Biblical passages too:

This one’s pretty funny – “He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.”(Deuteronomy 23:1)

One for the ladies – “I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent.” Timothy 2:11

Or the more macabre- “Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.” (Psalm 137:9)

For you Christian divorcees – “ Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultury.” Luke 16:18

    Just a few, there’s more.

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. Oops – a son killing and beheading their father is same old, same old? Wow. Tough crowd.

Len does their best to be clever in order to ‘make a point’ but couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a rocket launcher. Nice try Len, try again tomorrow.

The point is NO ONE should have a religious plaque on their desk, especially when working in a military or military adjacent position. Period.

Next point no one is as egregious as Christian nationalists. All the rules, law makers, and judicial systems are stacked in their favor and yet they still cry persecution. If Satanist Supremacy was a thing wouldn’t our current law system be entirely more groovy?

Last point is Christians assume they are hated because they follow Jesus. Nope, not the reason at all. I could tell Len, but then they wouldn’t learn, would they? Len, honey, if you are curious try looking up this weeks list of words. Get help with an adult if you get stuck, ok?

Hypocrisy, bigotry, racism, and theocracy. For extra credit Len please explain to the class why theocracy is a bad thing for a country like the USA which is governed by a Constitution and Bill of Rights.
