Trumpty thinks tariffs will move manufacturing to the United Ststes! Like you can move an automobile production facility to the U.S. tomorrow! Even if you could (which you can’t – impossible), the parts that go into producing those automobiles are GLOBALLY sourced! In other words, NOT made in the USA.
The largest BMW plant in the world is in Spartanburg, SC. That plant produces all of BMWs X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and XMs for worldwide distribution! In other words, it’s a global hub for worldwide distribution. But it doesn’t make everything that goes into those vehicles. It imports parts from other countries, some within the USMCA trade agreement that Donnie negotiated in his first reign of error. His new tariffs on the EU is even going to cause major disruptions to foreign-owned plants right here in the U.S. that employ thousands of Americans! 20% of parts used in production comes from outside the USMCA, globally sourced.

What’s done is very difficult to undo! Once the supply chains are disrupted, you’re hosed! Once plants shut down for lack of parts, you know, folks get let go! He thinks he’s still on Celebrity Apprentice, you know, pretending to be a President!

In the here/now tens of thousands have been illegally fired. Lawsuits filed, the judges are now ruling that many of those employees be rehired.
It’s chaos. The market is still in “correction” mode, the tariffs are on again off again contributing to economic stress, and the FOTUS admin is in full bore “Let them eat cake” mode not to disparage Marie Antoinette who most likely didn’t understand those who were starving never had cake in the first place.
Cruelty is the point as several of the FOTUS cabinet members told WeThePeople point blank that they want bureaucrats terrified and that they believe some pain is good for the American people. Not pain for themselves of course but us lazy proletariats, yeah, pain for us.
The secretary of commerce today had the freaking nerve to say that if his 94 grandma didn’t receive her SSA payment next month she wouldn’t complain. Glad to know that for her.
If I don’t get my SSA payment my landlord isn’t so patient. My heating bill company doesn’t understand, nor does my car insurance company. I’m so far under the poverty level that for me it’s a goal to achieve not something to fear as I’m dropping down.
Anyway, the war of lawsuits has begun and lest you think these are only papercuts, death by a thousand papercuts is still death; an awful extremely painful and totally justified death.
