Christian Post Headline Quotes MRFF’s Mikey Weinstein Calling Jesus-Cheering USMMA Midshipmen “Christian nationalist insects”
In 2023, MRFF, acting on a complaint from a group of seventeen alumni, staff, faculty, and midshipmen at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), succeeded in getting an enormous painting of Jesus moved from the Academy’s administrative building to its chapel.
A few weeks ago, Trump’s new secretary of transportation, former reality TV star Sean Duffy, visited the Academy, and speaking to a group of Academy midshipmen, whipped them into a frenzy when he asked “Can we bring Jesus up from the basement?”
One USMMA midshipman, a member of the school’s Christian fellowship (the service academies banned clubs for blacks, women, non-Anglo-Saxon ethnicities, and non-Christian religions — but not Christian clubs), told The Christian Post, for an article just out today titled “Attorney blasts Merchant Marine midshipmen as ‘Christian nationalist insects’ for cheering Jesus painting” with the subtitle “Mikey Weinstein threatens ‘World War 8’” (emphasis added):
“Jesus Christ represents ideals that are not specific to one group of people or another,” he said. “Ideals of sacrifice, ideals of love, compassion and empathy; these are ideals and traits that we, as a culture, need to return to.”
Yeah, Jesus isn’t just for Christians, you silly non-Christian nitwits who can’t see that this colossal painting of Jesus is just promoting his “ideals”!!!!
The midshipman continued with the MAGA/Christian nationalist “moral relativism” canard:
“Moral relativism has failed the country and the world, more so than any belief system ever really has,” he said. “I think we’re returning to objective truth.”
Yes, “objective truth,” as in the Christian nationalists want everybody to accept the Christian religion as the only “objective truth.”
So, yeah, “Christian nationalist insects.”

Wow, those Christian nationalists sure can dish it but again, wow, they can’t take it. They’re fussy over the word insect? Babies they are, WATB and bullies.

For those who need a refresher as to the meaning, moral relativism is the idea that there is no universal or absolute set of moral principles. It’s a version of morality that advocates “to each her own,” and those who follow it say, “Who am I to judge?”
Seems like our midshipman is a fan of One Size Fits All and Every Knee Shall Bend, even if they aren’t a believer.
Objective Truth there is no such thing midshipmen because truth is subjective; for example what is calamity to the fly is supper for the spider. Both are truth.
Learned something new in my mental health class on Tuesday. Many humans practice a circular form of logic, meaning they believe a thought is a fact because of their belief in it.

In my mind, and perhaps it’s because I’ve taught myself to think this way, there are facts and opinions. If I’m giving you my opinion you’ll know it, otherwise I prefer to speak in facts. Easier this way for both my brain and keeping stuff lined up.

See, I grew up reading the teaching stories of old. I remember when the hero was sneaking into the lair of the sleeping monster/ bad guy when they suddenly wake up to demand the person in their house identify themselves house only to be answered with a haunting cry of ‘no one’. Where are you the monster/bad guy bellows only to hear no where. Insert smashing sounds and the gentle snickering of our hero as they make off with the booty here.
I learned my lessons well so I forever more am ‘no one’ from ‘nowhere’ whenever I’m out and about getting into good trouble.
thus ends our teaching story this morning. Next time we will talk about the pros and cons of hiding in plain view.
Reminder kids, the war WeThePeople are fighting here/now isn’t about left/right or political party. Our battles are and have always been about defending our countries most sacred documents, the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
I’m not saying neither document could be improved upon (please don’t get me started on modifications. I have boxes of ideas and even a PowerPoint presentation or two). Nope, there’s always room for improvement when one practices ‘when you know better you do better’. What I’m saying is here/now the Constitution and Bill of Rights are under attack by those who would dismantle this document and the country it guides. I don’t care about their reasons even though I’m well informed as to their motivations. I do care about the massive damage being done right now to our great experiment and the psyche of our citizens.
Anyway, I’m rarely binary but here/now? Either you are defending the Constitution or your are tearing it down.
Please, don’t tell me the FOTUS admin is really rebuilding our institutions because I’m seeing little to no ‘building’ being done. Lots of removals, lots of endings, more than enough trauma.
Truly, the only beginnings I’ve witnessed are the coins flowing to the FOTUS admins personal pockets. WeThePeople might want to look into that.
