I salute you, sir! My 20 year as a US Air Force enlisted man ended in 1997: I was an E-7 when I retired. I would like to believe that I had the integrity to act upon my beliefs as you did yours. I am also glad that you had the support of an organization like MRFF to facilitate that decision. It is the knowledge that there are officers of your caliber that made it possible for my wife and I to complete careers in the Air Force. And it is the knowledge that MRFF was able to help you in your time of need that makes me glad that I could afford to make a donation to support MRFF and its work.
I wish you and yours the best in whatever faces us in our futures. I feel confident you will make the best decision in whatever our futures hold.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of Colonels and more junior general officers out there that, although they may not necessarily drink Trump Koolaid, they will drink it if it means career advancement!
What Colonel doesn’t want to be a general officer? What flag officer doesn’t want to wear three or four stars?
My advice to senior leaders would be, if you’re black or female, now is the time to slip quietly into the corporate sector.
If you’re white, and not in combat arms, you’re probably going to be OK. You can ride it out as a career move, giving you time to get your ducks in order as your career winds down, logistics, depot management, support roles.
For those in combat roles, if you’re not “one of them,” you’re going to be tested against enemies foreign AND domestic, with emphasis on domestic. Better to get out on your own terms rather than be thrown out and black listed for corporate sector employment.
Federal service is an option for major subordinate command executive positions but even those jobs are going to cause a lot of stress as the federal work force becomes chaos in motion with labor pools being decimated, rules broken, the managerial part of the job, regarding personnel, becoming the focal point rather than mission objectives. Loyalty testing in full force at federal agencies.
The stability of military service is gone owing to political sycophancy, the “loyalty oath” component.
Be warned. Your loyalty WILL be tested. By your own peer group, self policing in full force as you tell on one another regarding your “loyalty,” vying for the next open position lost in the fealtous leadership corps.
The murders committed against fishing boats off Venezuela in international waters? That wasn’t about narco terrorists. You already know that. It was a loyalty test. Will “my” Commanders carry out extrajudicial and illegal orders?
They passed the test.

I went through part of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1978. Military hardware deployed around the country, much of it in Tehran. Martial law imposed, curfews, banks shut down, communications shut down, airline pilots became money launderers as they shuttled bags of rials out of the country to cash them in at bank Melli in London, Paris, New York, cashing in on the arbitrage. Long gas lines controlled by the military, lines for propane for cooking, chieftain tanks all over Tehran, military deployed in force against the people. Armed military policing curfews. Entire sections of the city either electricity turned off to quell unrest. People protested on their rooftops at night to avoid the curfew police.
You know what stopped it? The military turned on the government. They ultimately refused to shoot their own people, their brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, nieces and nephews. They ran the Shah out in Jan of 79.
You know what happened to the Shah’s military leadership? They were “purged!” En masse!
There’s a military coup underway in this country as we speak, being led by a neo-Stalin. He can’t secure his kingdom without your help. Martial law will be targeted actions, not universal across the whole country, further adding to the “U.S. vs Them” soliloquy.
The question is, “which side do you come down on?”
To think you’re going to be able to straddle both sides is a fools errand!

Whoever this senior military officer is, he or she has been brainwashed by mainstream media into thinking that rejecting the leadership of a duly elected President executing the objectives for which Americans voted to support is somehow doing an honorable thing. You do not have to like a President or his party to obey his lawful orders as Commander-in-Chief. No, you are a quitter, a poor leader, and a disgrace to whatever uniform you once wore.
And, by the way, for any of you supporting this organization, I suggest you take a look at what it lists as MRFF Allied Organizations. That and their Wall-of-Shame immediately convince me that this organization is anti-American and does not reflect the values of the military and our country.

My husband was in the US Army 1967 through 1971. We lived in West Berlin for three years and that’s where I learned about being an American and what a privilege it is, being in the middle of East Germany made an impression on me. I was raised by a father who was in Germany in World War II he did not speak much about his time in the Army.
There is no way we can convince these people that don’t think about patriotism because the young ones have never experienced anything but great times.
