To Mikey Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

I read with great interest the 30 Oct. 25 Military.com story which focused on the reaction of my colleagues, including myself, to that extremely troubling meeting at Quantico, Virginia, where we were all ordered to attend by the Secretary of “War” Hegseth. This article was entitled “Loyalty and the Bizarre: Current, Former Military Defense Officials Question US Leadership Post Quantico”. The Commander in Chief Trump also spoke to us all. That meeting was a disaster.

Mr. Weinstein and the MRFF were featured in that article to significant effect. This is the reason I am reaching out today.

I just wanted to thank all of you for taking the stand you have taken for so many years now against religious extremism now referred to as “Christian nationalism” as discussed in the article mentioned above. It is dangerously rampant in our military ranks. Unfortunately including those I command.

I know you all take a huge personal risk in standing up for military members of all ranks. I wanted to extend my personal appreciation for your continued work without which we would be, quite frankly, lost. Your work has never been more needed than right now.

I am Christian myself and I am a General Officer in the United States military. I have heard of Mikey Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation for many years starting from the time I was a much more junior officer. I just never thought that I would be in a position where I would need their help. I am now.

I will be in touch soon. As will some key members of my senior staff. I know you will protect our identity information and thank you in advance for doing so.

Respectfully,

(Name, rank and related ID information of active duty military General withheld)

    Valkyrie.

Valkyrie is to warrior ethos what rubber balls on your bumper hitch are to emasculated MAGA Christians. They talk a good line but back it up with rubber balls, emasculation, a big mouth, and incompetence.

Like Kash Patel roaming the fictional battlefields in his mind as he praises Charlie Kirk, “see you in Valhalla my brother!”

Using Norse mythology kind of goes against the grain of that imagined masculinity; conflating it with MAGA strength, in a country, the United States, so far removed from Scandinavian standards, the dissonance palpable.

Valkyries wont be looking at the U.S. as “choosers of the slain” for Odin’s final battle.

Scandinavian countries, being “people first” nations, have “the right stuff,” owing to strong social welfare systems, high levels of public trust, excellent universal healthcare, an excellent education system, and work-life balance, attributes dismally absent from the Pax-Americana remnants of a decaying landscape in a multi-polar world.

And America doesn’t know how to handle it! The “people-last” choices of the last five decades a reflection of the socialist Corporatocracy America has become. Privatize the profits and socialize the losses.

There are no valkyries in the desolation of the American landscape, other than those imagined in the minds of takers.

I defy anyone to find one American billionaire “taker’s” yacht registered in the United States. They ALL fly Cayman Island flags. The pinnacle of hypocrisy. They won’t register their $500 million dollar yachts in the country that made them their billions. Because “it costs too much!”

Easy wrongs over hard rights. Governing is hard. And requires competence sprinkled with a bit of altruism. A dearth of both in this country.

Christian Nationalists can shove their Christian and Norse Gods right up their asses!
