One more housekeeping item before moving onto the news of the day. The U.S. imports 150,000 barrels per day of Venezuelan oil. We consume 21 million barrels per day. With oil at $57/barrel, we need more? Don’t think so.
Venezuela exports a million bpd. To China primarily and India. How does China and India pay for that oil? Not in US dollars! There’s one of the issues. BRICS. And the world coming off the dollar standard as the reserve currency.
Not to mention that without Venezuela, Cuba folds! And that plays into Little Marco’s revenge tour and 2028 presidential run. Not to mention some new Don & Eric property deals in Havana.
As well as the double threat of “socialism” in Latin America. Gasp! We don’t want that catching on. At least not THAT type of socialism. Corporate socialism is OK, but not people handouts.
I’m defining socialism as govt owned means of production. In other words, in America, corporate ownership. Which means that things like social security, Medicare, and Medicaid, SNAP benefits, et al have got to go!

Old Soldier, I have two questions if you wouldn’t mind. First, what are your degrees in? My degrees are an Associate of Applied Science in Disaster Preparedness Technology, a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Master of Science in Studies of the Future, and a Master of Arts in Sociology. The latter would have been a PhD in Sociology, except that narcolepsy prevented me from getting the dissertation proposal and dissertation done.

While working on that, she was a student worker in Texas Woman’s University’s Women’s Collection. The Women’s Collection houses the Official WASP Archive. The Women Airforce Service Pilots proved that women could do the job of flying the most sophisticated combat and support aircraft of the day. In fact, a WASP test pilot was one of the pilots who tested the XP-59, America’s first jet-powered fighter. And there are a number of times that male aircrew were shamed into flying new aircraft when a crew of WASP delivered a brand new B-26 Marauder or a B-29 Superfortress to a point of embarkation overseas.
