Let me get this in before Old Soldier comes around to badmouth MRFF over this. I have to agree that this is in poor taste, at best. Worse, that Jerusalem Cross makes a handy target for a sniper with a large-caliber rifle somewhere!
But the worst of this is the message it may invoke among people who might be potential adversaries. There are a lot of people whose lands have been colonized by Western powers, and this emblem may remind them of Western colonization and suppression of native cultures. This emblem may well remind people of the forced imposition of Christianity upon them. But most of all, this emblem may well remind people of the arrogance of invaders who disrespected them in every imaginable way.
We need to do better than this!
Listening to BIPOC voices on IG I’ve watched more than a few posts combatting the tragic effects of colonialism. The erasure of their culture because it wasn’t in alignment with White Christian (as it was defined at the time) nations. And no, Southern Italy wasn’t considered White enough to join the club.
Personally I believe they should keep the super duper fancy cross specifically forbidden (graven idols anyone?) in their holy book. As noted, it does make an enticing target.
Things are going to get worse as the Nat-C’s feel their oats. Fortunately while it appears that Nat-C’s are everywhere their numbers are smaller than expected due to their massively unbalanced volume to participants ratio.
It is important to remember how everyone’s friends, co-workers, and relatives are acting in the here/now. If they are embracing all the hatred and violations of our Constitutional rights with glee, that’s who they are. Protect yourselves because after this is over, and the evil that occupies the People’s House is the same as all evil in they sow the seeds of their own demise.
And I (metaphorically) may be assisting those seeds with fertilizer, water, and the light of day all the better to grow big and strong.
I love my country but we have many, many items on our Must Be Atoned For list. It will be slogging work to rebuild but maybe, if WeThePeople keep our focus on Liberty and Equality for all citizens I have hope for our future.
As it is right now we are living in the George Orwell book Animal Farm where all animals are equal but some are more equal than others.
Well, looks like Donnie Doze woke up long enough to declare that Venezuela needs to return its land, oil, and other assets that it stole from us!

And, he gets to invade countries with brown people! Hell, that’s an enlistment bonus right there! And with all those manufacturing jobs that never happened, it’s a damn good living, until it isn’t! As in, bring-your-own-body bag?
Before you parents worry, he’s answering a call to “serve!” He’s got God on his side and is led by some of the finest Keystone Cops idolatry can buy! He can even get a crusader tattoo. No more of that woke shit.
He even gets to learn a little Russian. We’re going to be doing joint military exercises with our comrades in Moscow soon!

Interesting take on that old Country Joe and the Fish song there, Synergy! But as long as you’re invoking the Marines and action here in the Western Hemisphere, you might want to back up just a bit for Tom Lehrer’s take in “Sent The Marines!” To wit:

I’m not certain MAGA is ready to go to war over oil. Their response hasn’t been their usual over the top Venezuela For The Win rhetoric.
I mean, their lard and saver says jump they are asking if it’s high enough from the troposphere, but oil?
Whenever I brought up the oil issue to my MAGA combatants on the interwebz they assured me that my liberal brain couldn’t understand the depth of concern Trump feels for them to ensure citizens here at home aren’t dying from an overdose. And yet, here we are.
It was never about the drugs. It was always about the oil. And I guess Trump doesn’t like it when others change the terms of a deal midstream. LOL When I read the actual history of why he feels the need to take back what was stolen which wasn’t stolen and had been finally settled in court after decades of legal wrangling, it just warms my heart that we are going into an illegal war over a court case in which our toddler of a president didn’t agree with the outcome.
