Subject: A word of gratitude

I have been a supporter of the MRFF and you, Mr. Weinstein personally, for several years , and it never fails to amaze me how dedicated you, your board, and your staff are to the simple principle of separation of Church and State, and how this must must must apply to our military.

You and your group are at the front line of the vigorous defense against the monotheistic surge of Christian Nationalism that has infected so much of our Nation, including our armed forces. America was founded by a host of different people from different backgrounds and different religions who sought to keep the fledgling nation a welcoming place for all. Sadly, hatred and bigotry has never been erased but our founding fathers addressed it. There are too few who remember this and fewer who make protecting plurality, fairness and religious equality their mission. You, this group, your people, are one of the very few.

Your energy, resolve, and dedication, is unmatched. Your singular and wildly successful actions to protect all people of all religions and so preserve the true integrity of our military is a blessing to everyone who values what our Revolution was all about. I never wonder why complete strangers trust you all and call on you to report offenses….. the clarity of your mission and your single-minded focus creates that instant trust.

My father didn’t enlist to fight World War II only to have America become what he was fighting in less than 100 years. Thank you for fighting this war to keep the Republic.

Yours,

(Name and city withheld)

I want to tell the fool who wrote this letter the ones he should have GRATITUDE to are the 13 service men and women who have died in this war. They are the real heroes.

Three comments from the old soldier who hates the Mikey so much that he continues to comment, every day.

And exactly what have those lost souls done for anyone except die for this holy war? Don’t misunderstand (your specialty) because my heart hurts for them, especially since they died for nothing except ego. Not defending our homeland, not avenging the loss of innocence (that WeThePeople killed – our bombs, our military, our responsibility).

Where is the old soldier’s outrage over all the things Hegsgeth has perpetrated against our military? Where is his ire that Hegseth is denying deserved promotions to women and people of color? Where is the old soldiers condemnation for a military that is bombing or threatening to bomb civilian targets?

Where is their freaking outrage that the president of the USA posted on social media for all to see their capitulation which started with “The Government of Iran has instructed me…”

Treason is happening in front of our freaking faces and it’s not the Democratic party that is doing the treason. And…. anyone else notice the insider trading bump (trillions of moneys made for someone)? I’m fairly certain Martha Stewart has a few words about the topic.

There are no guardrails. The institutions have failed. The fascists are controlling all the levers of power. It is the the eve of the March 28th No Kings Day march. If any of the facts I’ve listed gets your tail feathers all fluffed up please consider joining your neighbors in a show of solidarity.

And the old soldier aim their ire at one of the only institutions doing their best to assist those run over by our fascist regime. Yeah, that’s all kinds of messed up in my opinion.

I’m surprised the MRFF didn’t do a post saying they were glad Chuck Norris died. Mikey said he was dumb as a box of rocks. Norris is a better person dead then Mikey is alive.

This Easter let’s celebrate the life and death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Well, old soldier conflates accurately labeling a person with celebrating their death. Only here’s the thing, the only humans, officials that is, who are celebrating the deaths of others are on their own side.

But they can’t take responsibility for their own actions let alone hold their voices of authority to account so they smear what they’ve determined is their enemy. How… on brand for you old soldier, how on point.

This Easter, after an amazing meal prepared by all who attended, I learned that Hegseth signed a memo allowing personal weapons to be carried inside the base and barracks. I also learned that the commander in chief used curse words in an early Easter morning post on social media while doubling down on reversing what they’d said (checks notes) not 48 hours prior.

You’d think that would get the old soldiers attention but no, I forgot, they practice everything bad is the Democratic left’s fault while everything going correctly is a credit to him and him alone.

I also learned that the USA practiced war crimes (no, not the threats included in the aforementioned social media post) when they bombed the bride which was under construction. First tap, got a lot of workers. Second tap came later to ensure maximum kills from the first responders who were tending the wounded.

It is hard for me to admit my country is the bad guy at this historic moment but mental health 101 demands one face uncomfortable facts. I accept our country is broken. I acknowledge those who did the breaking and those who brought hot dogs and marshmallows to roast in the fire. For the record, if you aren’t toes in the sand, feet in the grass, or elbows in the details in fighting the fascists who plan on turning our democracy into a theocracy then you are on the side of the theocrats and fascists, no matter how you label yourself.

I’m as nonbinary as I can imagine and for this my thoughts are all black and white.

While Mikey won’t say the words I will – I’m glad Chuck Norris passed. Old Chuckles had some thoughts about me and mine that were so antiquated they were outdated before words were invented. He could have lived and let live but that wasn’t his style. It broke my heart back in the day because I was a major fan. After learning the facts I dropped him because I just don’t have time or space for such negativity.
