Subject: We started as a plural society and we need to stay that way

I was so moved by recent developments in our nation and by what I have read about the work at  the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, that I knew I had to write in order to thank you. And to let you know there are folks out here who are appalled at what is going on in our military and the push to make it a force of Christian Nationalism. I cannot begin to tell you how overjoyed I am that you and your organization exist and are doing such incredible work trying to defend the plurality of our armed forces. I often come to tears reading the excerpts of actual letters of situations that you and MRFF receive on a daily basis…..the pain in these letters, and the fear, is palpable. You have been able to help in matters that would never have come to light in the non-military world if you did not exist, and if the trust in your integrity and the integrity of the work did not exist. But you do exist. And your integrity exists. Without you and this group, how many of these poor men and women would be shattered by their experiences, the pressure, the brainwashing, the bullying?

Thank you!

The idea of a plural society is interesting. How do you think it impacts military life day-to-day?

Australia493, you asked, I have some thoughts.

In contemplating current events while meditating on the biodiversity of the universe, like you do, I was struck with clarity.

The current admin desires strict control, all things alike, which is contrary to the way things are. Nature is diverse, each individual species playing and filling their part.

How that translates into the military… well, it’s rather literal. Different personality types excel at different tasks. A good commander puts together the best person for the job, no matter the adjectives used to describe them. Well, that’s the way it should be and has rarely occurred in the past as a holistic view of what is by its definition structured and extremely ordered is generally frowned upon.

Every day I point out how the war in Iran is a holy war to the Nationalist Christians. Yet here we are.

As for a pluralistic society, how else can billions of individuals co-exist without ending each other?

I’ve run some of the numbers plurality is in alignment with the movement of Nature and the Universe.
