Mikey and Team,

I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to respond, listen, and give your time when I reached out.

The new rule for chaplains wearing their faith symbol instead of their rank is very frustrating for me. The common term is we salute the rank and not the individual and now infeelm being asked to salute a religious symbol. As a Humanist I’ve already been told my belief system isn’t real and now I’m being asked to pay homage to something that goes against my own belief system.

I am active duty Air Force for the last 27 years. I’ve made the highest enlisted rank. I served as a First Sergeant for 6+ years. I know I should go to IG or EO about this, but I do not trust that those support agencies are safe.

Oddly enough, I know the Chaplains are still safe so I went to a Christian Chaplain at my base and they told me they are just as frustrated and we had a great chat. The Chaplain told me about your organization and suggested I reach out.

Again I’m grateful to you and your team for taking the time to fight this, hear me, and be a support agency that I can reach out to. The fact that your Founder and President is the one who reached back almost immediately shows your dedication and I’m grateful.

Thank you,

Chief
