I had reached out to Mr. Weinstein and the MRFF team previously after seeing new policy and instruction rolling out in the Air Force that appeared as though it would drastically affect not only my right to religious accommodation as a secular service member, but the rights of other secular service members and members of non-traditional faiths. They reached out to me right away and asked to be kept in the loop as events developed.

Today, August 25th 2026, I was informed that a decision was made and my fears were proven true. Now I’m on a deadline to appeal the decision and I stand on shaky ground with little recourse as my First Amendment rights are actively being violated. In the face of this discrimination, I reached back out to the MRFF team and Mr. Weinstein who responded to me in less than half an hour and asked me to call him while he’s on his off hours to talk to me personally about the challenge I’m facing and my options to proceed as an active duty member of the Air Force. I want to extend my gratitude and well wishes to Mikey and his team for all their hard work they do. I have a game plan now, and I won’t back down.
