I sought guidance after experiencing antisemitism during monthly meetings held at an American Legion post for a veteran-sponsored motorcycle club. The club’s chaplain and officers refused to make the opening prayer more inclusive; instead, they told me to leave the room after the Pledge of Allegiance and before the prayer. Mikey Weinstein personally responded within minutes at 8:30 p.m. Well beyond office hours. I’m grateful for the support.

From the above letter, I gather that this is a private, civilian organization and not an arm of DoD. While what the people in charge are doing may be insensitive, selfish and unfair, it is not a First Amendment issue since that covers only abridgment of same by the government.
