Dear MRFF,
I agree that Crusaders is in poor taste, but the article on MSNBC quoting Mikey Weinstein as saying that the people who made the decision should be prosecuted? I recommend drug testing for Mikey. That’s going a bit far. You want an expense report? Fine. But it won’t change anything and let’s be honest… you’re essentially asking your adversary on the matter for ammo to be used against them.
Poor taste on Crusaders, yes, but now you guys are the crusaders against the Marine corps. Might want to brush up on your history, it’s a bit difficult to beat the Marines. Furthermore, if your organization wants to be taken seriously, I suggest you stop with this. It was changed back to werewolves, no harm done, and we can move on to bigger and frankly, far more important, issues. But the longer you hold on for the absurdity of prosecution and the accountability, the more ridiculous your organization looks.
But congrats on getting them to change. Hell, keep pushing the issue and some commander somewhere might even get a letter of reprimand. Maybe if you push hard enough someone can get hit with a couple articles in the UCMJ. Might as well destroy some careers of people protecting us while you’re at it. But oh, yeah, I forgot… your organization doesn’t like religion so concepts like love, forgiveness, peace, acceptance, and tolerance are probably a bit foreign to you.

Hi (name withheld),
The Crusader issue is not just in poor taste; it sullies the reputation of the Armed Forces and undermines the Constitutional guarantee of freedom of religion.
Prosecution is harsh but what I think Mikey meant was that some lesson had to be learned as a result of this dust up because a number of such issues have arisen in the purview of MRFF and with just a slap on the wrist for the violators encourages other commanders to undertake the installation of of their own beliefs into military affairs, thereby promoting one religion over another and religion over non-religion which directly violates the Supreme Court decision Kurzman Vs. Lemon (1971).
MRFF is currently addressing some 28,000 client case complaints from our young armed forces members relative to command centered and coercive Christian proselytizing, this Crusader thing prompted the most recent so the issue is far more widespread than this isolated instance.
As to our organization not liking religion, we can’t help but like religion practiced in a lawful and constitutional manner since most of our number at MRFF are practicing Christians, Jews, Muslims, Catholics with a few Earth Based Religions and Atheists thrown in.
Our problem is with Dominionist Christianity which has slowly raised it’s ugly head in the military for some time. This is militant form of Christianity and I invite you to Google it for a complete run down on the deleterious effects it has on the armed forces and other populations.
We do appreciate your concern and hope that this explanation helps you to understand our position.
