Hi Mikey:

I read with great sadness of Glen Doherty’s recent death in Libya, and of the dedicated work he did for MRFF. Now that’s a real warrior! In honor of Glen and of the wonderful work that you and your colleagues do at MRFF, I have emailed another contribution to your group.

Unlike so many other family members, I am lucky that my son, (name withheld), returned last year from a very tough deployment, “training” Afghan soldiers at a tiny outpost in Helmand Province. Now in law school, he is working on the Afghan Legal Education Project, mentoring vets as head of the law school veterans’ association, and a reserve officer in the USMC. His example, and the example of so many other amazing, open-minded and tolerant members of the military has encouraged me to begin to get involved in the area of hiring of vets. I am pushing my rather large and slow-moving firm to step up its recruiting of vets through job fairs and on-campus interviewing.

Thank you again for the important and effective work that you and your colleagues do.

Regards,

(name withheld)
