Dear Mikey,
I am appalled at the continuing ignorance shown by various chaplains within our military. I appreciate all you and your staff do to call them on the carpet. When one of these “incidences” come up, I am curious as to the reaction of the Jewish chaplains? Is it time for the nomination of a Jewish chaplain to head DOD’s chaplaincy program?
I think of all the Jews and other minorities who have sacrificed for this country. I had a gg uncle fight for Union who was seriously disabled (gsw and probably ptsd) in many of the Virginia battles. He was an immigrant and probably, barely spoke English. My uncle fought in jungles during WWII and was awarded the bronze star for bravery under fire. What does it take in this predominantly so-called Christian nation to have military chaplains be better qualified and more sensitive?
Sincerely,

(name withheld)
