Mr. Weinstein, Thank you for bringing your concern to my attention. Ensuring a professional environment is a top priority for me as I take command. To that end, I have directed a full review of all artwork and other artifacts throughout the wing to ensure we are promoting an atmosphere of diversity and inclusion for all our members. The lithograph you referenced has been conferred to our wing historian pending this review. Thank you again for your inquiry.

Kindest Regards, Col Brad Orgeron Commander,

80th Flying Training WingEuro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot

Training Sheppard AFB, TX

Response from MRFF Founder and President Mikey Weinstein

….Col. Orgeron, thx for responding…..MRFF and our many USAF clients under your direct command will anxiously await the results of that “investigation” to be sure!…. you can expect a full FOIA request from MRFF shortly Colonel…..one key question, of course, is why did this official USAF investigatory action have to await MRFF’s demand and complaints on behalf of our USAF clients at Sheppard AFB to even ensue in the first place??!!….those noxious paintings have been on full display for quite a while we are assured….likely YEARS!!….just HOW toxic IS the command climate there at Sheppard AFB??……we realize that you just took command last Friday, but the query is still quite rationale and reasonable…..finally, Colonel, we presume that your key phrase in your e-mail below to us, “The lithograph you referenced has been conferred to our wing historian pending this review.” means that it has been taken down and is presently not on public display but in the non-public display custody of your wing historian?…Is that right, Colonel??…please confirm ASAP…thank you, Mikey Weinstein/MRFF….standing by

Weinstein, you are an ass! We who have served at ENJJPT find your remarks and comments repulsive and not representative of the atmosphere at that incredible organization. You obviously using this organization to further your own personal agenda. Shame on you.

    Pilotodesangre,
You say “we.” Are you speaking for all Muslims or just you?
Is the Command climate there sufficiently Islamic? Just curious.

Another example where members of the “Military Religious Freedom Foundation” demonstrated their poor educational background.
OTL Schenck was a pilot who had nothing else but flying on his mind. Otherwise he would not have accumulated over 17,000 hrs during his lifetime. He demonstrated his surperior flying skills in over 300 combat missions, leading most of them. He even survived over forty missions in the most demanding first fighter jet, the Me 262. But, he did not engage in so-called “Nazi”-activities, even though politicians used his success for motivational purposes. That’s why he was one of the few military leaders not being officially banned in Germany. He demonstrated all skills that we expect from our military officers and future fighter pilots in the whole westerly world today.
Politicians make war, not soldiers. Honorable soldiers treat each other with dignity and respect for the other’s professionalism and performance, no matter if friend or foe.
My questions for you, Mr. Weinstein: have you ever considered a thorough historical research before blaming a man who grew up in a very poor environment and who even voluntarily worked at cotton plantations, a job that only slaves would do at that time?
    – or are you just trying to cover up your own shortcomings by blaming others for something they didn’t do?
As an officer I just hope that you never served. We do not need disrespectful and unprofessional polemicists in the military!

    Lynn,
You should have said, “OTL Schenck was an ‘enemy’ pilot who had nothing else but flying on his mind.”

I think you may have forgotten that part!
You don’t venerate your enemy, particularly in the very military that defeated the Nazis!

You, of course, study their tactics and we do to include attribution for their skill set and contribution and accomplishments, as an academic exercise in the conduct of operations, but you don’t glorify their success against our own military! Don’t be silly!
In particular, in a military office setting. What message are you trying to send in terms of the Command climate?

Ironmoped, please point to the very specific rule or law which states this man can’t have this print on his wall. Or is MRFF making arbitrary demands based on emotion? Asking for a friend.

As Albert Camus said, integrity and respect have no need of rules. The point is that nobody is claiming that the pilot was a bad guy or not worthy of respect. The point is the swastika and the regime represented by the decoration of the aircraft, and for which the Luftwaffe was waging war, were evil and were engaged in the business of killing our military and civilian personnel.

    Hey No Dick,
You do know that Mickey Weinstein is an attorney right? And served at very high levels of our Government? Arbitrary demands based on emotion? C’mon now! “Use your head for something besides a hat rack,” as my father would have said.

The specific “rule” concerning the display of offensive material, in the military, is, “take that fucking thing off the wall!…… Because I said so!”
The “laws” that govern our military are spelled out in the constitution and codified in title 10, thus, the UCMJ.
While the applicability regarding a foreign Commander may be a point of law that skirts the UCMJ, he can be relieved of Command and sent home!
And, OBTW, this is a full bird Colonel in a Command position. He knew exactly what he was doing concerning the sensitivities regarding the swastika.
He wouldn’t be able to do that outside his office in Germany – it’s illegal! And he knows that!

I’ve said this before and it needs repeating:

The officer who places a framed picture of a Nazi pilot in a position of dominance right outside the door to their office is sending a signal to those of a like mind.

It’s like a sign outside a business letting people know who you are without the neon lighting.

When someone tells you who they are, believe them
