Mikey Weinstein Reflects on Handwritten Letter He Received from Jimmy Carter 16 Years Ago Expressing Support for MRFF

“It was a handwritten note in cursive from Jimmy Carter himself. The letter simply stated in elegant brevity that he had been closely watching what I’d been doing in creating MRFF and fighting for church-state separation in the military. He wanted me to know that he supported our activism and encouraged us to never give up this fight.
“That was it. Only a few sentences, yet it had universally emboldened me and my wife to do exactly as Jimmy Carter had requested of us!”

How wonderful to read that President Carter reached out to Bonnie and Michael Weinstein to say he was a big fan of MRFF.
A little more evidence of Carter’s lifelong effort to “do the right thing,” published in the Washington Post a few days ago:
Several years after graduating from the Naval Academy, and while Carter’s submarine was docked in Bermuda, British military officers invited White members of the American crew to a party. At Carter’s urging, the entire crew refused to attend because it was segregated.
May the merchant marines restore the CHRIST ON THE WATER painting as soon as possible. May the Subject of the painting judge your group for what it is–a godless angry group of athiests that stupidly challenges the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
Only the twisted authoritarian theocratic mentality sees people demanding that a sectarian religious painting be moved to a chapel as “a godless angry group of athiests that stupidly challenges the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY”. The rest of us, including real Christians, see it as re-affirming that religious belief is between humans and God, and NOT a legitimate part of government.
Only person angry here/now is Mary Hopkins. Apparently she forgot the whole judge not stuff, and yeah, she’s asking her deity to do the judging but isn’t that the same thing? Really?
Mary, take a deep breath. Now another. Throwing a temper tantrum make get you what you demand in your bubble but here/now in reality it just makes you look foolish.
What an amazing letter and how perfect the timing!
Former President Jimmy Carter is an exemplary human. His encouragement of you Mikey truly defined For the Good of All and May it Harm None. Beyond glad you and your family are the warriors we need.
Jimmy Carter is a vile antisemite, Jew and Israel hater, why would you want a letter from him. I doubt that he will enter heaven for his hatred towards the Jewish people and support of a people, Palestinians who have never existed in the history of the planet.
May the “Subject of the painting,” that Mary Hopkins refers to get Mary back on her meds.
She implies that if you don’t put up a picture of her Christian savior, then you too are issuing a challenge to her Lord God Almighty!
I think I’m changing my mind concerning the picture issue though. They should have a picture of the Lord God Almighty in every military academy – it should be a picture of the Lord watching over little kids being raped by the clergy!
Or a picture of Lott’s wife after having been turned into a pillar of salt for having disobeyed God while Lott has sex with his daughters!
Or a picture of the Lord watching over slaves being beaten!
Or the drowning of all humanity by a pissed off God!
Or the stoning to death of anyone that works on the Sabbath.
The list goes on!
I kind of like the idea of showing the true nature of the Christian God.
We should put them in all government buildings, schools included.
You could even put up a picture of God going through anger management between testaments to show he’s now a kinder more gentler God (although he still watches little kids being raped)!
Mary’s right! Let’s put up pictures of her God in all his true Glory!

It appears to me Azriel is riding the high of their favorite drug hatred of anything they deem other. Hatred is powerful but mainlining it as Azriel does has a cost. The dosage which provided a high yesterday won’t work today. Every time, upping the dose until they are spewing utter nonsense to the world.
Hatred. Not even once.
Mary and Azriel are cut from the same cloth. Lying to justify one’s bigotry seems to be as popular as ever. I guess that those of us who believe in giving others the same rights and respect we want for ourselves (the Golden Rule) are still very irritating to would-be theocratic dictators.
