Christian nationalist Rep. Mike Turner’s amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to SHUT MRFF DOWN by making it ILLEGAL for members of the military to even communicate with MRFF is now part of the GOP-led House’s version of the NDAA.
THE WHOLE HOUSE HAS NOW PASSED THE BILL WITH TURNER’S DESPICABLE, VINDICTIVE, AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT IN IT!!!
If Turner’s amendment is allowed to remain in the final, bicameral version of the NDAA, it will obliterate MRFF’s ability to protect and advocate on behalf of our service members facing religious discrimination, harassment, and aggressive proselytizing!

Nah, we good homie.
As bad as this news is, I find I’m not panicked. Well, not completely. With all the other cultural overreach being performed by the MAGA GOP (the bans on abortion, transgender care, drag, birth control, abortion, books, etc) it reminds me of so many teaching stories.
The antagonist has to make their move, it’s not enough that they talk smack, their actions have to match their words, because words are free; actions have consequences.
What also gives me hope is the infighting which has to occur with the pureblood crowd. We see it played out on the national stage now (MTG being booted from her tribe of crazy was not a square on my 2023 governmental BINGO card!).
Things are bad, yes. The trolls are thick, yes. But…. There is always hope. Always. We The People have the Constitution at least until 2024. As the MAGA GOP use their opportunity at wielding our Constitutional sword to harm Americans I suggest we get busy by showing them the Constitutional sword cuts both ways.

By ensuring the GOP loses big in 2024, we ensure a better future for all, to include the MAGA tribe, though they would argue it to their death (against their own best interests – death from COVID 19 comes to mind), along with a preserved Constitution.
I came across a quote by the great educator Horace Mann (although a devout Protestant Evangelical, albeit, I assume, much different than today), that I think sums it up pretty well, “Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity.”
