Outrageous Christian Proselytizing “Easter Tree” and “He is Risen” Signs Removed from VA Medical Center Lobby After MRFF Demand

“Although I am Christian myself, the setup was like that of a Sunday school foyer or classroom. It was unconscionable to have that put upon me and others. It felt to be unnecessarily hurtful to the purpose of the facility for medical care and treatment of all veterans, inconsiderate of the broad diversity of those who use the facility.” — MRFF client at Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center

We’ll take it down when the holiday is over was the reply.
So orders are just suggestions now? So the regulations one swore an oath to obey are not rules needed to be followed but just guidelines?
When the Christian Right whines about military preparedness they weren’t kidding.
wahhhhhhhhhhh
Mrffsupercrybaby know that if the decorations praised Allah and had exhortations to become Muslim he/she and the rest of the Christian supremacists would be screaming at the top of their lungs. What we’re obviously seeing here is a bunch of hypocritical bigots who have no respect for military regulations and the constitution and no respect for other people’s beliefs.
I actually wouldnt care at all, Jewish decorations during Jewish holidays, Christian decorations during Christian holidays, muslim, so on etc. fair game. All legitimate religions should be celebrated, not concealed. Half jew here btw.
Im just not feeling the full on assault on Christianity atm. Especially when your dipshit “catholic” president throws imaginary tranny day on Easter Sunday. You can take that shit and shove it back up your ass.
Try putting that nonsense in a Jewish or Muslim holiday. Guarantee you libs dont have the balls.
Tell me you know nothing of how calendars or Easter works without saying you don’t know and in walks Mrffsupercringe.
Easter moves while the International Transgender Day of Visibility has been on March 31st for fourteen years. But yeah, it’s a conspiracy to ‘get’ you to change your gender (insert tradition
al Bugs Bunny gif of ‘you’re a maroon’ here).
Thats why I said Easter Sunday and not March 31st. I know how fucking Easter works dummy.
I suggest, using your own words, that no – you don’t know how things like calendars work. You said “Especially when your dipshit “catholic” president throws imaginary tranny day on Easter Sunday. You can take that shit and shove it back up your ass.”
Seems to me your head is up your body parts leaving your comments sticky and smelly. You say one thing but then claim it means something else. What else can you be but a troll?
Grey One is right – you’re not being honest. Biden didn’t “throw” the recognition day for transgender folks on Easter. It was scheduled for March 31 by longstanding tradition, and it didn’t harm you or your beliefs, or anyone’s beliefs, in any way. You just can’t tolerate any but what you decide are “legitimate” religions, and you refuse to acknowledge that the VA’s own rules forbid sectarian displays such as the one at issue here. Reality check: Nobody granted you the right to decide which beliefs are legitimate and which are not. Delusions of grandeur can often be treated, fortunately for you.
Theocrats and other bigots typically respond this way to rules they expect others to abide by that require government entities to respect the civil rights of religious minorities as well as the majority without prejudice. And intelligent folks know that can only be done when government doesn’t promote religion – any religion. I’m sorry you aren’t capable of acknowledging and respecting other people’s rights, but fortunately for all of us the MRFF is.
“We’ll take it down when the holiday is over was the reply.” Actually, it was more like “We took it down when the holiday was over.” And NOTHING about whether they plan to put it up again next Easter.
“your dipshit “catholic” president throws imaginary tranny day on Easter Sunday.” International Transgender Day of Visibility has been on March 31st for fourteen years, so what exactly did Mrffsupercringe mean when he wrote that Biden “throws imaginary tranny day”?
There’s a “tranny day”? I had no idea that there was a special day celebrating transmissions! I’m sure car enthusiasts all over must have been overjoyed!
On the other hand, Transgender Day of Visibility is something people SHOULD celebrate rather than fear or scoff at. It means that we are living up to the promise of what America SHOULD be. It means that people can be who they are without fear of discrimination. And since neurological literature since 2016 has increasingly shown that people are transgender since their brains differ from the rest of their bodies, we should NOT be discriminating against them for wanting to be their true selves!
Nothing like a Christmas tree at Easter to celebrate the birth and res-erection of the born-out-of-wedlock bastard child of a 12 year old virgin, the property of another man.
The message is clear. You have to believe in magical thinking to think you’re gonna get health care from the VA!
I mean, it’s a completely “socialist,” gasp, healthcare delivery system, even the doctors are “civil servants,” owned by the Government, completely against their professed love of everything private and “free market!” It’s not odd that the Government Of Putin would force their revered “suckers and losers” that served in the military to rely on a socialist healthcare system.
Course, the real purpose of the VA is to dole out disability compensation from $171.23 to as much as $4,433.39 per month, tax free.
It’s amazing! You can be 100 disabled for VA disability compensation requirements AND get special access (hiring without competition) for Government jobs, kind of an oxymoron in terms of being 100% disabled – laughable!
By comparison, Social Security disability compensation, on the other hand, is based on your ability to carry out the activities of daily living. In other words, someone 100% disabled by social security standards, ain’t working – period!
I get it. The Christmas tree display at Easter in the VA lobby sends the wrong message and should be removed. But it’s a distraction from the real issue of care for 8 million veterans and, more importantly, the VA disability compensation racket!
In my Government organization, we have a saying, “No Colonel left behind!” Meaning, that retiring military officers, LTC and higher, once retired, bring their 30% disability ratings into Government and get direct “appointment,” without competition, to those coveted GS14 and GS15 positions in Government service! Complete with their monthly tax free stipends for “military disability!” I work with retired military receiving the max disability compensation, one a competitive body builder during his Army time, most, if not all, with greater mobility than your average Government employee! One of the easiest disability ratings to get is sleep apnea, traditionally an illness associated with obesity, that gets you the minimal 30% disability rating for that direct appointment government job. In other words, it’s a racket!
To the tune of $370 Billion per year doled out by the American tax payer, pushing the total defense budget in America well over a $ Trillion per year (when does it stop – when Social Security is cut to pay for it?), and we haven’t even included Department of Energy for nuclear arsenal management and the Department of Homeland Security for the Coast Guard!
A Christmas tree at Easter celebrating the “risen” Lord of miracles (amazing he couldn’t handle three nails!), yeah, it’s a bit over the top, rabbits laying chocolate eggs and all that caper.
But, you know, magical thinking.
There should be no religious displays at any VA, period. I don’t want your Christianity representing my “secular” service to my country. It’s a disservice to all veterans!
