Our military is a secular organization, period.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation protects the Constitutional rights of all service members to worship as they please and practice their chosen religion, without coercion, and without retribution for holding a particular “faith,” or, none at all.

A military member’s career choice and progression should not be impacted, one way or another, by his or her religiosity.

Christian Nationalist Commanders in our military weaken it, and themselves, in terms of leadership abilities. They destroy readiness, unit morale, and combat effectiveness, ironically, putting those they lead at risk, America’s sons and daughters.

Mikey Weinstein committed many years ago to support the military, the Air Force Academy his Alma Mater, having seen first hand the results of a military divided by religious faith and the discriminatory outcomes that affect combat readiness.

The MRFF protects the Constitutional provided protections regarding religious faith and I can think of no better advocate for all military members than Mr. Weinstein.

Mr. Weinstein has faced many threats to himself and his family over the years for standing up to the religious bullying that impacts the careers of our service members and reduces the effectiveness of our military as a fighting force.

I know of no truer Patriot and military advocate than Mr. Mikey Weinstein.

I donate to the MRFF because our military service members deserve an advocacy organization, their careers hard enough without the added career impact of religiosity testing for advancement by Army of God Commanders, themselves in violation of their oaths.

I donate to the MRFF because I believe in our military, want them to succeed in their careers with allegiance to their oath of supporting our Constitution without regard to religious affiliation.

Your MRFF donation is not about the MRFF. It’s about support to our military members!

It’s about sustaining an effective military fighting capability, many deployed as we speak to various hotspots around the world.

Let’s help them Be All They Can Be without the Christian Nationalist Patriotism testing required of proselytizing Commanders.

They’re already Patriots! Patriots, every one of them, that answered the call to defend this nation!

Support our military members by supporting the MRFF!

Beautifully written. Spittin’ truth. Great reasons we should all give what we can. This is a magnificent organization doing much needed work that makes our country more secure and our military stronger and, —like America — 🇺🇸, FOR EVERYONE!!! 💪🏼

The people opposing the MRFF don’t practice what they preach. They clearly don’t believe in the basic, foundational rights of freedom of religion and the rule of law. So, it isn’t surprising that they are angered by Mikey and the MRFF reminding military authorities of the regulations and constitutional law. The only aspect of their response that might surprise some people is the sanctimony and self-righteous tone in which they deliver their hate-motivated messages in opposition to the work of the MRFF.

Just a note on leadership, having worked for many years as a federal Army civilian, a civilian embedded with specific military combat units, wearing the same military uniform during combat deployments, without rank, lest we be captured and executed as a “spy!”

Leadership is everything! Leadership, ultimately, is responsible for successful mission accomplishment, and that’s where Commander’s intent enters the picture. In other words, the tone, the unwritten thoughts of the leader that permeates a military unit.

That tone is well known throughout the unit and is reflected up and down the chain of command within that unit.

Why are some units more successful than others? Because that tone is reflected in the organizational behavior of the members of that unit.

In other words, the “organization” cares about what the Commander cares about!

A Commander that shows favoritism (any favoritism – religious, personnel, education, training, fairness, opportunities), is announcing, as if in a front page article of the New York Times, what his favoritism is! In other words, the Commander’s integrity is on full display and well known throughout the unit.

While life goes on and most Commanders are successful during their periods of Command in garrison, in peacetime, the dynamics change considerably during combat operations. That unit deploys already knowing the level of integrity of their Leaders. The trust and bond, or lack thereof, affects commitment, among other elements, and determines outcomes.

A proselytizing Christian Commander has already compromised his/her integrity, the favoritism not only visible, but detrimental to the good order and discipline of the unit. In other words, to the success of the mission and the subsequent welfare for those he/she leads.

Disgruntled employees are not born disgruntled – they’re made!

A seemingly innocuous off-handed or off-color remark by a Commander, even within what is thought to be a private audience, can make or break a unit’s success! Because it sets the tone. It gives an example of what is to be emulated.

Example – next time you receive what you might think is poor customer service, it’s not a one off. It’s representative of the leadership of that company or organization. The employee you received the bad service from didn’t just wake up one morning and decide he was going to screw over a customer today! He’s following the script of his leadership!

It’s not the employee, it’s the leadership! The employee merely emulates leadership, or, “Commander’s intent!”

The Louisiana Governor, on the subject of requiring all school classrooms to display the Ten Commandments, is another example of “Commander’s intent” that won’t end well.

It’s clear what those in the Christian Nationalist camp are after, the difference being that a military unit in combat doesn’t have the luxury of time to correct ineptness and lack of unit cohesion. That ineptness, lack of trust, and incompetence will get America’s sons and daughters killed!

Your son or daughter, deployed with an ineffective leader, is more likely to come home in a body bag, combat operations aside, even for things like training and safety.

Subordinates are taught to follow orders, period.

We could use a bit more of that in military leadership circles, without the stain of a proselytizing Commander’s preferred flavor of religion clouding his or her judgement.

The military uses the adage, “an 80% solution now is better than a 100% solution too late!” However, that 80% solution formulation relies on clear and objective judgement and integrity!

A proselytizing Commander has already compromised his integrity!

Christian Nationalist Commanders not only violate their oaths, they abrogate their responsibilities to America’s sons and daughters, those that are truly placed in harm’s way!

They should be removed from their positions for lack of confidence!
