MRFF Files Federal Lawsuit Against U.S. Air Force Academy After Almost Three Years of FOIA Request Obstruction — WITH NEW VIDEO FROM MIKEY WEINSTEIN

In October 2022, MRFF submitted three FOIA requests to the Air Force Academy. The first of the three was submitted after the Academy scheduled its “Commandant’s Training Day” on the Jewish high holy day of Yom Kippur, forcing Jewish cadets to choose between their religion and participating in this important training day. MRFF did not buy the Academy’s claim that its utter disregard of its Jewish cadets was just a “scheduling oversight” and submitted a FOIA request demanding all records regarding the scheduling of “Commandant’s Training Day.”
The other two requests were for records of the Academy’s internal correspondence and other records regarding MRFF and records of in-person meetings between Academy leadership and representatives of other non-profit organizations, religious organizations and churches, and political or other public figures.
After receiving “Status Update” after “Status Update” from the Academy’s FOIA officer, which continued through April 2024, with each “Status Update” moving the dates that the documents for each request would be released to MRFF further and further away, all communication from the FOIA officer suddenly ceased.
After nearly three years of being stonewalled by the Air Force Academy to prevent us from obtaining the information we are seeking, MRFF has said enough is enough, filing a federal lawsuit last Friday against the Academy to force it to obey the law and release the requested documents to us.

In your latest video MIKEY you said that the Air Force or VA are either incompetent or hiding something. Did you every stop to think that they just have better things to do (like take care of our veterans) then deal with people like you
So government agencies can blatantly violate the law if THEY feel “that they just have better things to do”?
Old Soldier, what better use of their time might Air Force Academy officials make than to ensure AFA Cadets get not only academic and leadership training, but the moral and religious support needed to make it through a long, stressful education process like an education at any of the service academies? If they’re not providing cadets with that support, are they truly making best use of the resources we taxpayers provide?
It is rightfully part of MRFF’s mission to hold organizations to account. And it’s a requirement under federal law for those governmental organizations to respond in a complete and timely manner to requests for appropriate information. It’s something you should support, too: you wouldn’t want to go into battle with an officer who hadn’t a rat’s right rump roast to give for your spiritual well-being, would you?
By their own words it is apparent to me that the old soldier who hates the MRFF believes in neither the Constitution nor the rule of law. So exactly who or what were they declaring their allegiance to when they took their oath of office? Law for thee but not for me is more dictatorship than democracy.
In my opinion, whatever good they achieved while in the serving was wasted. Glad they are retired and reduced to shouting at clouds.
I don’t disparage the service of others often but when I do it’s because there is a line that was crossed. the old soldier who has misgendered me many times (that wasn’t the trigger) just crossed the last one. Either one follows the Constitution or one doesn’t. The old soldier, by their own freaking words, does not. End of story, and yes, it’s that binary for me.
J.P.,
I suspect the old soldier would happily burn our country to the ground if it meant he and his religion could rule over the ashes.
There is no reasoning with folks like that. The harms we see happening all over our country haven’t touched them yet so they are all ‘Problem? What problem?’
If I were in the military I’d want the person charged with my spiritual well-being to be someone who accepted me and my faith. Isn’t that what being a team means? You understand each component part and how they function. You rely on each team member to interact with each other in precision fashion, without a thought. If anyone is off balance then the whole kit and kaboodle is off balance.
This is all stuff y’all know but the idea that there is only one way to believe is just so backwards to me… and yet this is a hill so many are willing to die on. Thousands of years playing king of the hill. What a waste.
