MRFF Condemns SECDEF Hegseth’s Praise of Christian Nationalist Pastor Who Says Women Shouldn’t Vote or be in Military Combat or Leadership Roles – WITH NEW VIDEO FROM MIKEY WEINSTEIN
In a CNN interview last week, Christian nationalist pastor Douglas Wilson proclaimed, among other outrageously misogynistic things, that women shouldn’t be allowed to vote or serve in combat or leadership roles in the military.
According to Wilson, whose church teaches that women should be submissive to their husbands: “Women are the kind of people that people come out of.”
Wilson, who has more than 150 churches, also stuck to his prior comments about slavery, claiming there was a mutual affection between slaves and their masters and that the problem with slavery in America was just that it was “an unbiblical system.”
Wilson also, of course, believes that being gay should be illegal.
On August 7, SECDEF Hegseth, who has previously praised Wilson and attended his new Washington, D.C. church, retweeted the interview, promoting Wilson’s trifecta of misogyny, racism, and homophobia with the added comment: “All of Christ for All of Life.”

During my 25 years in the military, some of the finest leaders I knew were women. In this case I agree with the MRFF condemning what he said. HOWEVER I still do not support anything else they do.
Women have proven themselves as leaders and as warriors. They deserve a place at the table and should be taken seriously for the insights, dedication and experience they bring to the command post! Anyone who denigrates women because they misread scripture doesn’t deserve to be leaders in the US armed forces!
Old Soldier, we don’t have to agree on everything — but I’m glad we could agree on this issue!
Liberty and unity and equality are mutually interdependent. Men and Woman are each one of the wings so a bird can fly. Christ gave love God and golden rule, as you give you receive. Treat woman or men or any group unequal when God created them is not fair, is not the will of God, God’s will be done.

It’s sweet you believe what you wrote but my experience isn’t “as you give you receive”. It’s more like if you don’t give we take, in all instances of life. Humanity has proven to me time and again that they embody greed.
After reading and rereading your comment I believe you are saying you believe men and women are equally skilled in battle but all your deity talk is masking the intent of your words. Heck, I’m still not 100% confident in my interpretation of what you said to be honest.
All I know is that some of the most fierce warriors I know are female. To put them into the homemaker box is not only wasteful of their talent but it’s a good path towards unintended consequences.
The Project 2025 punch list may demand biblical roles for females but I’m saying MAGA better be careful what they ask for because based on the memes I witnessed there will be so many meals consisting of foods encased in jello. I’m not sure I want to try some of the recipes I saw. Just say no!
And best part? Memes weren’t posted by the warrior types but modern empowered women. Guess we are all warriors now.

One of the problems in the “do something” encouragement is in the ask for ordinary people to engage on behalf of politicians that were elected and are paid to “do something!”
People don’t necessarily want great government, just good enough government, without the daily hoopla and political drama that puts everyone on edge, thanking social media in large part for the division that exists today, telling you how and what to think! I want government to shut their mouths and do their fucking jobs. Clean air, clean water, good roads, a social safety net, medical care, good education and then all you rich fuckers can have your massive yachts flagged in the Cayman Islands, I don’t care – once you provide a base line standard for the American people.
If the Democratic representatives won’t say shit even when they have a mouth full, then what can be expected of a controlled proletariat other than a call to arms? Let them pick up the first arms and lead the charge! But they won’t, they’re cowards – all of them! They want you to sacrifice – not them. Fuck off!
George Carlin told us years ago that representative democracy in America is an illusion. Once elected, what are you going to do about it other than listen to them beg for money so that they get reelected and keep their cushy jobs? Imagine having a job that pays you to run your mouth while saying nothing?
A job that pays you to deflect from corporate interests with nonsense platitudes that focus your attention on other than, say, a universal healthcare system. “I’m gonna fight Obama ever day,” in that southern redneck twang. “Hey, it’s football season, who’s your team?”
What a fucked up country! You have the best politicians money and redistribution can buy, packaged in the “freedom to chose” between corporate-sponsored candidates.
And don’t get me started on those telling you what God thinks, whatever the fuck God is! God is whatever the fuck will keep those in that business still in that business!
Selling Jesus is enormously lucrative financially. Talk about control! Insider knowledge on the fiction of knowing what happens to you after you die! How ‘bout while you’re alive? Any mechanisms for spreading some of that prosperity gospel? You just keep giving your preacher man money and he’ll put in a good word for you after you die!
America – love it or leave it? Yeah, I’m working on the latter. Lots of places in the world you can live a much more fulfilled life without all the drama. Places of civility with decent standards of living, good medical care, etc.
Mr. Weinstein and the MRFF are one of the few organizations that actually fight for what’s good and just.
I support the MRFF, without reservation, having served in the military and been employed by the federal government for many years, having witnessed Christian Nationalist dogma in the Deep South in a very large military organization.
And we wonder why we keep getting our asses handed to us in every war the military industrial complex has gotten us into since Vietnam.
