MRFF Disgusted But Not Surprised at Hegseth Rehanging Portrait of Robert E. Lee in Confederate Uniform — Complete with Slave — at West Point
Not to be outdone by Christian nationalist transportation secretary Sean Duffy and his headline-grabbing crusade to return an enormous painting of Jesus to the administrative building at the Merchant Marine Academy (a painting that MRFF got moved to the Academy’s chapel in 2023), defense secretary Petey Hegseth has had a 20-foot tall portrait of Robert E. Lee in his Confederate uniform — complete with a slave holding his horse — rehung in the library at West Point.
The Robert E. Lee portrait was originally unveiled in West Point’s library in 1952 at the height of segregation, Jim Crow laws, and the white supremacist “Lost Cause” movement to romanticize the Confederacy and rewrite history to downplay slavery as the cause of the Civil War.

I am disgusted that they didn’t honor the WWII veterans yesterday on the 80th anniversary of the end of the war.

Synergy, all Old soldier who prefers to yell at clouds is concerned about is owning the libs, just like their hero, the FOTUS.
If they really cared about their fellow vets they’d be talking about the budget cuts to VA staff. They’d be furious at the cuts to programs our current vets need to survive.
Instead of real issues they prefer to yell at an organization that defends all our military personnel. Their outrage isn’t with the blatant Constitutional violations of SecDef Whisky Pete. As far as they are concerned having openly denominational prayer services during the work day is AOK.
There is more implied by the Old soldiers repeated attacks on the MRFF but why? They truly are irrelevant here/now which absolutely must be chapping their backside.

As he did with Iran. What you don’t know is that he told Iran what we were going to do before it happened, just as he did in his first reign of error in Syria. He told the Russians we were sending in 50 something tomahawk cruise missile that, effectively, did nothing.
Remember him dropping the MOAB in Afghanistan? I call it operation shifting sands. Because that’s all he did – shifted a bit of sand around. And, at the end of the day, gave the country back to the Taliban.
So there’s your war department under Bronzer No. 5. He told the world he had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear enrichment capability. But Netandyahoo is still saying the Iranians are enriching and are an imminent threat! Netandyahoo still trying to keep his ass out of jail! But the Israelis are supporting their own version of the Orange Baby, against their own best interests. You think Netandyahoo gives two shits about hostages?
Trumpeldyingskin launched an air campaign against Yemen but then, essentially, sued for peace with the Houthis, “don’t attack American ships and we’re good!”
Israel got its ass handed to it – they’ve never fought anyone that has the capabilities Iran has, people in Israel running around scared as shit complaining the place looked like Gaza. Israeli air defense full of holes and the Iranians knew their capabilities before they counter attacked. Played them like a fiddle. Israel still hasn’t seen Iran’s full capability. The other thing they did was strengthen Iran’s government!

I ask because the North Korea debacle is making the rounds and I’m quite certain we eliminated the bread winners of a few families leaving the rest to perish because the invading Seal Team couldn’t think outside the box and panicked.
And the icing on the craptastic experience is the FOTUS rebranding of the Rose Garden into the Rose Garden Club where the only roses on display are mouths of the invitees puckering up to kiss FOTUS ass (which was broken – supposedly – by a random Congress critter)

There are citizens organizing like crazy all over this country. If there isn’t a group near where our gentle readers reside consider this post a nudge to get busy and start good trouble yourself. Our country needs new faces willing to fight the good fight. The old faces may have been fresh at one time but now are more likely to be corporately owned than not. There are exceptions but… well, I can see who is owned and who is not. Perhaps you can too.

Tom Hanks is an American treasure, Bobby Lee was an American traitor. Tom has told the stories of American Soldiers, while Bobby betrayed his oath and killed American Soldiers. Tom Hanks deserves the Thayer Award, Bobby Lee deserves scorn.
